This museum is excellent, but poorly publicized. The staff are helpful. The treasures (which are breathtaking) are deep in the bowels of the building. Be sure not to miss them.

The archeological museum occupies part of modern building in this provincial town.
The expo well illustrates the rich culture of the Thracians, the local people that was defeated and occupied by the Romans in the first century AC. The most proeminent is the kings thesaurus, one of the many findings that originate from the tomb sites located just North, on the road to Shipka pass.

The main thing to see is the range of finds from the Thracian tombs in the valley. Great to see and connect this with the visits to the tombs themselves.

Unique place. Great exposures that helped us to tell our glorious story to our daughter. We have seen exhibits that are silent where the other can be seen, except in the Valley of the Thracian Kings.

Small well situated museum, covering whole known history of the area.
Not very suitable for youths under 10 years, because of the security of the exponates.
Still you have to see Sevt 3rd mask and the gold chaplet. Also the look of Sevtopolis, which is under Koprinka dam lake.

History of the Kazanlak region in exhibits from prehistoric, Thracian (for example from Seuthopolis), Roman, Middle Ages, to the present. The implications from recent Thracian finds appear to rewrite history. You may be able to talk to an archaeologist who worked on Thracian archaeological sites.

I loved everything about the museum - from the building - spacious and light modern architecture, to the exhibits, which bring you on a journey of the history from antiquity to the XX centuryof this region. The famous golden findings of the Thracian tombs may be temporary exhibited somewhere abroad but what is still there is well worth the visit. Don't miss the art gallery hosted in the same building - a fine collection of XX century Bulgarian art. A separate ticket but only 1 Euro for the adults.
