Visited this home today, it has been preserved to early 1900s. There is a tour guide, and the original landscape has been preserved! At the top of the third floor are some very steep steps that led to a bell tower of sorts. Wonderful period...More

It's a very attractive Victorian home, well furnished, nice fireplaces and woodwork, complete with lacy curtains. Helpful, well informed rangers tell the story. It was interesting to see how Muir chose a more austere office than the one used by his father-in-law. Loved the notes...More

This is one of the homes that John Muir lived in with his family after his father-in-law died. It has 10,000 square foot and 3 floors, filled with details of his life, family, library. It still has the original wood-burning stove! The NPS ranger are...More

We finally went here after living in the area for many years. The movie and visitor center tells a lot about John Muir. I loved going to the house to visit. Very educational and fun on a afternoon.
