It was great 4 daya with 3 families
We stayed at Hapimag hotel, was so clean and comfortable! I strongly recommend to be member of hapimag system
Town was so smart and classy! There are lots of dinner alternatives
We were full of schnitzel 😁
I also recommend pizza house in city center
We only used Schmittenhöhebahn and trassxpress
Right and left directions gives too much ski alternative up to 60km
We also had school course for our daughters at ski school of zell am see
One of our children got fever and can not be able to take her last 2 days of course and unfortunately they did not refund it eventhough they said they could do it. I would not recommend this school

This is a super place. Why? The best soup together with an assortment of breads that the Austrians do well in general and ANTES does extremely well. The staff Porina and Felix could not have been funnier or more helpful and the chef and baker, Libor is truly very talented. He puts his twist on a traditional soup making it outstanding. And the cake....we didn't order any but they insisted we try a bit. Mistake! So good . They are open from 06:00 -18:00 Mon-Sat, 07:00-17:00 Sundays and holidays. All the food looked appetizing and very fresh.

A picturesque Austrian town by a large lake. If you are not into 'hiking' then a full day would be sufficient to enjoy the lake cruise and walk through the town and beside the lake.

Beautiful surroundings, but did not feel as though we were in Austria. We briefly visited one evening for dinner and walk around the center of town and lakefront. Our visit was during the week of August 15th, and we were surprised to see 90% of the population being from the Middle East, but also very conservative. We were therefore unknowingly inappropriately dressed, and felt very uncomfortable in our tight sport leggings and short sleeves. The discomfort and feeling out of place was mainly due to the looks received by a few Arab men, unfortunately.

Have been in Zell am See from time to time. This is no longer a nice city to visit for experiencing alps, Austrian culture and local street life. Tourists are 90% arab looking people and a lot of them are not behaving like you would expect them to. We experienced a lot of loud hassle between tourists and locals, burka dressed women demanding special treat, people laying down in streets and parking lots praying to Allah. It was like entering market of Marrakesh. This is not what we came to experience. It is a shame that so many years of culture can be ignored only by one single group of tourists. We will seek other alp cities next time.

Totally spoilt, it's lost all it's originality, don't know what country I'm in, halal restaurants opening on every corner! Ali Baba is one of them! I want to visit Austria not the Emirates! People are rude and very demanding!

We visited Zell am See again after many years and expected an authentic Austrian mountain and lake village.
I was mildly spoken shocked to see that Arabs totally took over Zell am See. “Lederhosen”exists😊 but Austrian authenticity is gone, now replaced with arab traditional dresses, niqab and burqas…What a disapointment.

If you are looking for an authentic Austrian experience, or to re-live your childhood holiday memories (both reasons applied to me), Zell am See might not be the optimal choice. The village is swarmed with visitors (mainly families) from the Gulf States and women covered in in hijabs, niqabs and burkas flock the streets and boulevards among the lake these days: the result of a remarkably successful marketing campaign initiated by the village itself over ten years ago. In all honesty, we were unpleasantly surprised, as they form a segment that keep to themselves and do not mingle at all, therefore not contributing to a laid-back and/or cheerful European summer holiday atmosphere at all. Google some online newspaper articles about this phenomenon before you make your final choice for an Austrian spring or summer destination. I have no clue about the reasons for the village to target exactly this segment, but the result definitely is that next time we will look for a similar, but Arab-free destination in Austria. Therefore: three stars, as I appreciate some balance at least, in terms of visitor segments.

The nature and the landscape is really beautiful. However the whole area is packed by tourists from Islamic countries. If you want to see how men disrespect women and dress them in burkas feel free to visit the town. Really disturbing
