We walked from just beyond Zell am Ziller to Mayrhofen along the river valley trail - about 7 miles in total. It was a very easy to follow walk and not at all strenuous - pretty flat. Lots of people were walking and cycling along...More

Our first time hiking in the Alps, but compares quite favorably to any hike we've done in Rock Mountains. We took the lifts up 3-4000 ft to start our hikes and went up from there. Great views and well maintained trails, but don't expect to...More

Walks on either side of the valley up Ahorn or Penken cable cars. Valley bottom walks, it's all there if you want it.

I love hiking which is why I chose Mayrhofen. The routes were excellent and easy to find. There are good routes on the penken and ahorn moutains (the ahorn summit trail was out of this world). I only done a few routes but I am...More

The Tourist Board provide excellent maps and information. Plenty of public transport to get to the start of your walk.

We were there for two weeks and only managed some of the many trails. Excellent signage, great variety of hikes, good facilities, beautiful scenery. Love it!

Bought the Zillertell Pass and used it every day - got the bus a few days down to Hintertux - lots of walks to be done.

It’s all lovely scenery but our favourite walk was up to the Pfitscher-Joch hut just over the Italian border. It’s a lovely mountain trail rather than following a service road up to the most famous hut. The views from the hut are magnificent and the minestrone...More
