This High School Museum and Visitor Center was a wonderful tribute to President Carter. Old photos of his high school friends - including Rosalynn. In his own words he takes you through a lot of the preserved rooms and tells of his influence by his teacher Miss Julia Coleman. I bought a book to read - An Hour Before Daylight,... More

Very interesting place that gives insight into his younger days as well as those of his wife. Take the time to make the visit. Learned a lot.

This is the place you should start your visit to Plains, Ga. The high school where Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter went has been turned into a museum showing the life of both of them. A short film that is shown in the school auditorium gives a good overview of the history of the town and gives meaning to the buildings... More

If you're a fan of Jimmy Carter....or just interested in Presidential history, this is quite an interesting stop. Lots of memorabilia from Carter's school days through his adulthood. Loved the quotes lining the upper walls. Interesting history about Rosalyn, as well. Definitely recommend when visiting Plains.

If you are in the area i would check out Plains and the old High School. A great look into Jimmy Carter and the town. Very small attraction, so wouldnt be an issue for small children.

It's not enormous, but it has a lot of information about the Carters. President Carter's principal, Julia Coleman, was a significant influence on him, and he even quoted her in his inaugural address as President. The displays go beyond his school years (the bronze copy of his Nobel Peace Prize medal is on display), and there is a fascinating section... More

Good walk from Main Street, this old school that Jimmy Carter attended, very informative. Loved the 28 minute movie in the old auditorium, so much history, then walk down the halls and marvel in memory lane, and all the pictures of him and Rosalynn. Part of the National Park services so no entrance fee.
