Visited on a hot day. Grandkids enjoyed themselves in the water and on the playground area. Nice beach area; beautiful scenery. If you kayak, great place to go. Other kids were catching lots of fish.

We were out riding around the area and stopped here to do some fishing. The lake has quite a few areas with shore access for fishing. They have toilets and a boat launch. We caught a variety of fish in the short time we were...More

We had a picnic lunch near the lake/lodge, hiked around the lake and enjoyed the scenery. It's beautiful and full of great wildlife.

That's my opinion, but we have been all over Custer State Park through the years, and we stayed here for the first time in June. I think Blue Bell is the best, but this is a close second. We chose Stockade Lake - South to...More

This is one of the larger lakes in the hills. There is lots of room here to hike and explore and lots of shoreline to fish.

This is a nice little gem hidden in Custer State Park. We camped at the Stockade Lake South Campground, which is a fantastic little spot. We love it here and look forward to visiting again someday.

While Sylvan Lake may get more visitors, this is truly a gem. It may not have the rock formations like Sylvan, but it has it's own beauty. It is very peaceful and enjoyable. There are lots of places to stop, and take photos or just...More

There are NO lake front campsites at Stockade Lake North campground. In fact, you can't see any of the lake from the campground. If you still want to know which campsites would be closest to lake, I'd say campsites 20E... More
