Even in the early morning fog accompanied by light drizzling rain this drive was amazing. It seemed to have gone on forever, but then we ended up at Mt. Rushmore. Very worth it.

Nice drive from Custer to Keystone. Several great views. The Needles Hwy was more interesting and better sites.

Loved everything about this awesome drive. Just can't beat it. However, we were there in September when visitation was down. Recommend you start from the south and head north. Love the pigtail bridges and tunnel views of Mount Rushmore.

This is a beautiful road that meanders thru the Black Hills area. There is so much to see along the road...from prairie to forest to rock formations to small lakes. Take time to enjoy it and look around, you may miss something if you don’t.

Not all that spectacular but a nice drive. We did it as it was a route for us and made it nice to see things. I would not go out of my way to see this as it is just another route.

There is a terrific center down the road from Norbeck which now is only doing stuff for children. The new discovery center has a wonderful movie called Spirit of Tatanka. They will also tell you where wildlife has been sighted that day. Nice exhibits and...More

Do the round trip, up Needles Hwy and back on Norbeck or vise versa. There are several single lane tunnels and a set of pigtail loops. I suggest driving slow and taking in the beautiful scenery and wildlife. Most the roads cannot be craven over...More

We took around 5 hours. Mainly because of stoppages to watch the wildlife. There are many places where these are available at arm's length and is worth to wait and watch them leisure. There are places for small parking... More
