When spending time in South Dakota be sure to have plenty of time to visit Custer State Park. Wonderful scenery, wildlife, lodges, campgrounds and a great visitor center.

We have been to numerous National Parks and Custer State Park is better than many National Parks. The animals, the spires and buttes, beyond incredible. We planned on staying for just a couple hours and were there all day. Unbelievable!

This park is amazing, the roads through it are spectacular especially the needles road. One can see buffalo at close quarters as they amble by the road. There are plenty of pull outs to view the landscape.

Awesome creatures roam this area but take care not to get too close. Easy to photograph them from the car.

Custer State Park is a refuge for the many species which call it home as well as for the soul of those who wander it's paths. Admittedly, to get to the Black Hills or Paha Sapa as the sacred area is called by the Lakota...More
