Our small G Adventures tour group enjoyed a trip here courtesy of our Guatemalan guide, and it was fabulous. The paths leading to it were a little tricky and slippy due to the rain, so make sure you have some sturdy shoes on (flip flops won't cut it!). The river is reasonably pretty and waterfall itself is a nice view.... More

The hot springs is located just past a small town and a bridge on the right hand side of the road heading from Rio Dulce. It is about a 45 minute drive from Rio Dulce and costs 10 quetzals to enter. The area does not open until 8am and is a short 3-4 min walk through the woods down a... More

I'm a fan of natural hotsprings and this was pretty nice given that it has a waterfall. If you want you can climb up the side of the waterfall and after a short walk reach the source. Collect the mud here to enjoy an impromtu mud and body mask which really makes your skin so smooth.

I heard this is the only hot spring waterfall in th world, it is certainly the only one I've ever seen. The water falling on the rocks is hot, really hot. The water in the river is cold so when you get to the part where the two waters meet it has this amazing effect where you feel the hot... More

We stopped hear after our long drive, first we had a picnic lunch overlooking the falls. There were about 10 people enjoying the hot springs when we got there. We had to pay a fee to enter, and an extra 3Q to use the Bano, hmpf. At the falls was another guy 'watching our stuff' I didn't feel the need... More

...but in the interests of helping out fellow travellers... Vistied Rio Dulce and this trip was recommended to us by our hostel owner. These beautiful waterfalls cascade down the rocks - HOT. They plunge into a large cold water pool. Caught collectivo from main street in Fronteras (check out the people yelling out for Finca Paraiso) Can't remember exactly how... More

We were taken to this gorgeous hidden waterhole & falls, which had hot water from the waterfall and cooler temperature in the waterhole. Lovely colour and peaceful. Also nice short walk to the falls watching locals live on the river shoreline.

25 km. From Rio Dulce, on the way to El Estir, you can find this river at Aguacaliente, where there is a hot spring you can have a very nice and relaxing bath. If you are bringing d small children that do not swim, be careful as it is deep near the spring water, and also the river current is... More

It's a very nice place, the locals are very attentive always ready to help. we bought a disposable ice chest that we carry on our entire trip, the guy in charge haul it in and out for us for a small tip. I do recommend that if you have an option to visit not to miss it.
