Frenchmen Street is a little hard to find if you're a first-time visitor, but it's by far the BEST place for live music. Many other venues in the French Quarter have great tunes, but this area has club after club after club of fantastic local...More

Bourbon street is fun but come to Frenchman Street for the real legit Nawlins! From the impromptu brass band on the street, the art walk and all the bars with no cover, you will have a fantastic time. We stopped in Blue Nile and discovered...More

This is often called the Bourbon Street for locals. It’s not as crazy as bourbon but offers as good, if not better, music options as well as food and drink. It’s more low key and feels more mature than the bourbon street area... if you...More

Hang out on the corners and watch the entertainment come to you! You will be entertained by the neighborhood brass bands, the Dancing Man, and the Tambourine Lady! All for free! Then go inside any of the great night clubs and watch the pro's.

Everyone I knew suggested we walk down to Frenchman street and frankly I was disapointed. Royal street and even Bourbon street is much better. Maybe it was the time of day but I would not go there again.

Spotted Cat was great fun if a little crowded. My favourite was dba we heard the Tin Men with washboard Chaz. Amazing top quality musicians. Also visited the Louisiana Music Factory and bought CDs, the guys in there were really helpful.

I didn't make reservations; I went early and got good seats. Many of the cover charges are in terms of one drink or two... not an outrageous charge on top of high priced drinks. OPEN TABLE has a great ap for reservations... More

I agree every night is fun somewhere in New Orleans. From the jazz clubs, to Bourbon. street, Burlesque (if you like) sports and even boating or cruises. It's all there!
