Great music

Did not stay inside long, crowded but the 2 times we walked in excellent music. Decor that you would expect.

Please support small venues who appreciate customers!!! Don't support bamboulas with actual money. Feel free to support the band and buy your booze at a nearby store. They most likely will never know or care. Don't expect service, just move on.

Only down side was bartender! He entered 8 bucks to the cashier screen and claimed 12 for two beers!

We love the band The Slick Skillet Seranaders! The bar is small but very friendly and cozy. Highly recommended to visit!

So this is a small place, so it might get a little crowded BUT totally worth it because we hear the best live band in a the whole trip, if you like rock n roll and blues and good solos you must stop by when they have this "Steve Mignano Band" they are simply amizing and you can sense the... More

Fun bar on Frenchman Street with local performers. We stopped here several times and had a drink and listened to the musicians play.

First, this place is TINY. So if that bothers you, move along. Cash only. BUT, boy do they know how to book a band! We had an amazing time and the bar tender was FAST, which needed to happen in that tiny place. We all enjoyed every moment of it. We thought we were stopping in for a couple songs... More

The Apple Barrel is a must when visiting New Orleans. Tiny little bar, always great music. One of the greatest things about Frenchman Street is places just like this.....What's even better - you can start here from some great blues and then walk down the street to hear funk, New Orleans Jazz or just about anything else you can imagine.... This is a teeny, tiny bar. It is always a stop on our visits over the past two decades! Guaranteed to have super bands and nice bartenders. If you aren't claustrophobic, stop in!

This is going to be a strange review, when we were in New Orleans in June we visited Frenchman Street each evening. The Apple Barrel is so small that we walked by it until the last night in town. The doors were open and the person playing, Andre Lovett, had a great sound. We literally stood inside the door and... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
