Neighbourhood: French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.

This is a must go to place. First do a Pims Cup, then a hurricane, then finish with a Sazerac. Jennifer literally is the best bartender ever! Bomb ass personally, so ask for her. Kate is new, but awesome! Just go here. We finish every night at this location. Best ever!

Although this place is a block or two away from bourbon street, it is worth the trek! Reportedly used to be a brothel and is now a cozy spot to take in some live jazz while enjoying delicious cocktails. I had a seasonal drink with berry puree and it was delicious!

Decided to stop here while walking past. Some interesting history to this place. Good range of cocktails and great live jazz while enjoying the drink.

Finding this pleasant jazz bar just 1 block from the chaos of Bourbon street was a marvelous experience. Friendly staff and good love music

We went here after a hard day of exploring just to unwind (and because the hotel gave us a drink ticket) and we really aren’t big drinkers, Eduardo helped us each pick a drink we would like and watching him make them was like watching a magician at work! Will definitely come back just for Eduardo

Just underwent a large renovation. Tasteful, attractive inside. Nice, cordial bartenders. Very small cocktail list, maybe five or so drinks? With some wine and beer as well. I tried a couple of the light liquor drinks based in gin and vodka. Both light and easy to drink. Small, low lights, not crowded, intimate. Very easy access if you’re staying in the hotel. Main reason I didn’t rate higher is secondary to the very small drink list, which hasn’t changed, best I can tell, since last year when we were here.

I loved this stop on our haunted history tour. The bar was empty on a Monday night, but it was all velvet and shimmer with a romantic/goth lighting. With the history of the building and the vibe of Gatsby-esque class, it was totally worth a stop. My boyfriend had a sazerac, which ended up being his favorite drink of the entire New Orleans trip.

Nothing special. You can only get in through the hotel pool area. Very limited drink menu. The bartender seemed annoyed at ghost talk or with questions. It wasn't busy, maybe 4-5 patrons in total (including my husband and myself). We were actually excited to see may bailey's because of ghost adventures but it didn't live up to our expectations. It was very ho hum. I would suggest that the owners open the corner doors again for public access....the bar might thrive again.

We stopped in at the end of our evening because we knew "Storyville" had been completely renovated and wanted to take a look! It still has it's unique old charm and is in the original building with the original license that belonged to May Baily hanging on the wall. The decor is very eclectic with some very modern pieces against the backdrop of the brick walls and the photos from the 1800's. It comes together nicely. The bartender was delightful, drinks were to perfection and the jazz in the background completed the evening. All in all it is just what it is supposed to be... a secluded little "Storyville" bar great for a gathering of friends or for a cozy couple to share a nightcap! Either way we will return and enjoy another wonderful bar in the French Quarter with an awesome history to tell!!!!
