This was such a great way to see the French quarter. Our guide Suzy had loads of local knowledge and made us feel part of that. The food tasting was brilliant, that coupled with meals out means we leave New Orleans having sampled pretty much everything. Including gator sausage !

Coupled with a few drinks this was a pretty perfect lunchtime.

Thanks Suzy we really enjoyed it.

This was our first Girl's Trip activity in New Orleans, a city we'd never been to. Our guide, Susan, was excellent! We walked though the French Quarter, tasting 7 local foods. In a city known for it's unique food, it was a great way to know what we'd like to eat for the rest of our trip. Now we want to go back with our husbands and do this tour!

Pouring rain could not dampen this tour with Nate as our guide. The small bites from various iconic, local establishments were great examples of the offerings in the French Quarter. Nate has a wealth of knowledge about the culture and background of foods rarely mentioned in tour books. His research on Rose Nicaud, an enslaved woman from the early 1800s, was fascinating. Nate is an historian and a personable guide - he made 3 hours of torrential rain a non-event and most enjoyable.

First the tour started late and there were more people than expected, about 15. Our guide, Nikki, did not wear a microphone, so with all the noise of New Orleans, it was difficult to hear her. When we got to our first food stop, French Market, we were told the vendor was not ready for us and to look around for 15 minutes. It turned out to be 25 minutes for our small piece of muffuletta, and we had to look for a place to sit, we wound up standing in front of a wall. After finding out we were only going to get some gator bites and a praline, we left the tour. I feel like it is not worth $65 per person for what you get.

We went on Mother’s Day, so it was to be expected to be crowded. And one vendor apparently cancelled. None the less it was poorly planned. We ate our piece of muffuletta standing under the statute of Joan of Arc. After a long wait for our guide to pick up our deep fried alligator bites we walked down to the French Market to try to find tables and chairs on our own. We got 6 ounce cups of beer. The actual cost of the food each of us ate was less than $20. I do NOT recommend this tour.

Susan, our tour guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, attentive and more! The negative part about my experience in this food tour was unrelated to Susan. The first negative was that the time is the tour I chose was changed. The second negative was that weeks prior the tour, I had informed the company that I was allergic to shrimp and I needed a substitution. I had taken many food tours and I have always been offered an alternate food item. However, there was no alternate option of food tasting for me. Comparing this food tour to the many others I have taken (including with the same company) this have been my least favorite by far based on the food offered. In the food tours I have taken before, they first have you taste some appetizer, then build up from there until at the end you get something sweet. That wasn’t the case with this food tour. I wished Also there was more a variety of taste- small portions are ok but just more to taste. This is the first food tour I was still hungry after the tour ended. I would not recommend this tour.

This DK 3-hour food tour was a wonderful way to taste some of New Orleans signature dishes and sweets. Our guide, Nate, not only explained how the dishes were made, and what ingredients they contained, but provided some rich history on New Orleans. Nate has a great sense of humor, which made this experience even more enjoyable!

We had a great afternoon walking around the French Quarter with Susan. She shared some great history and the food tastings were so good! She also shared some great recommendations that we were able to try during the rest of our stay. Couldn't have gone any better!

So much food! We did the 10:30 am food and culture tour and we were not hungry until 7:30 pm. You get to taste some of the classic dishes of New Orleans without having to commit to a full portion size. You also get to see most of the highlights of downtown and learn about some interesting history. Kristi was an excellent guide and offered recommendations of where to eat throughout the city! Highly recommend this food tour!
