We are excited to announce our new motto for the remainder of 2016 and 2017- have roux spoon, will travel! We are exclusively offering offsite events until March 2017. With this new motto, we are taking the show on the road. Our guests are no longer restricted by the size and availability of our restaurant space, and they're not forced to decide if it is possible to squeeze one more meal into a whirlwind trip to New Orleans. We are offering our guests flexibility and choices on when, where and how they can enjoy the Langlois experience. New Orleans Culinary Entertainment - Enjoy the Show! Think of Langlois as a traveling food show - we bring the best of New Orleans cuisine and Louisiana cooking to you. Our trained chefs are storytellers, food nerds, Louisiana natives, and culinary historians who make every event memorable, fascinating, and fun. We take guests on a journey through the history and ingredients of Louisiana's unique food culture, and our demonstrations explore all of the influences in Creole and Cajun cooking, including French, Spanish, German, Italian, Native American, African, and Vietnamese cuisine. We provide culinary entertainment for groups of all sizes in your venue of choice - from private homes to the convention center to hotels and area restaurants.

My friend and I came to New Orleans for a long weekend, found a quaint rental in Marigny, and stumbled upon Langlois while researching the neighborhood. In the four days that we had in town, we saw the major sites, but Langlois was the absolute highlight of our trip. We were greeted at the door by our wonderful chef/host, Tess,... More

What an incredible experience. Lauren helped us book our visit through email and phone. So friendly and informative. Greeted by Kathryn and welcomed with sangria! Saturday afternoon class of Louisiana favorites. Tess, the chef, led nine guests through the culinary history of NewOrleans. We made gumbo, jambalaya, and bread pudding in three hours. Sounds unbelievable but we did it and... More

My teenage daughter is a culinary queen. I wanted to find a way for her to be introduced to Cajon & Creole Cuisine. This class was it! She was welcomed into a group of adults and integrated very well. It was quite an experience for her! She learned about Louisiana cuisine and got the hands on experience to recreate those... More

We visited New Orleans with some friends and decided to try a cooking school. Now - my idea of cooking involves a grill, red meat and a cold beverage so I was a little apprehensive. It was outstanding! The staff were helpful and entertaining and the meal was delicious. I was very happy to see that we could get as... More

If you consider yourself "Culinary Curious" and enjoy great Cajun/Creole food, then Langlois is just for you. We joined 11 other adventurers in the interactive kitchen and prepared Chicken & Andouille Sausage Gumbo with Jazzmen Rice, Creole Jambalaya, Old fashioned bread pudding, and topped off with Pecan Praline bites. Wow ! We also enjoyed the three course wine paring which... More

My husband and I had a blast at the New Orleans Favorites interactive cooking experience. The foods were amazing and we learned a lot about the history of New Orleans cuisine. While we didn't each have a cooking station, participation was encouraged and everyone who was interested, was able to help with the cooking process. The wine parings were delicious... More

What a wonderful cooking school! I enjoyed every moment from making the class reservation with Lauren, to learning with Chef Tess, and to taking in the surroundings of the beautiful building. Lauren was so accommodating of my food issues, and I do not find that everywhere. She was also great at keeping me posted on whether the class "made" and... More

And I've done a number of them, in different cities and countries. A passionate, entertaining, committed team of food professionals who clearly love what they do, and love having an opportunity to share with their guests. Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
