Why walk or ride a bus, when an intimate mule-drawn adventure is an option? As seen on TLC, The History Channel, HBO, The Food Network, TruTV, The Travel Channel, The Travel Channel, and more!! Royal Carriages is one of the best and most authentic experiences offered for both tourists and locals.

All Royal Carriage drivers are licensed tour guides for the City of New Orleans, and also licensed by the Archdiocese to enter the cemetery gates of St. Louis #1, the oldest above ground cemetery in existence in North America. Jamie was our driver/tour guide for our hour long ride/cemetery walk this afternoon 12-9-16 and Elizabeth was her most behaved, knowledgable mule. Jamie's experience and humor made the French Quarter a wonderful new adventure for us as we visit this fascinating city for the first time!! We wish her and Elizabeth many more years of fun travels through her city... More

We had the amazing and most knowledgeable Tim alongside the trusty KingFish for our tour and it was fantastic!!! Tim was incredibly informative and equally charming. We would not change anything of our magical carriage ride for the world! Loved it!!

Jamie our tour guide and her mule Elizabeth took my wife and I on a great tour through the french quarter. Hitting the highlights of history, architecture, pirates, haunted homes, restaurant favorites, and new orleans lore. Would definitely recommend Royal Carriages for price and value it was only $20 a person.

My wife and I had a great time on our carriage ride. We ended up having a private ride because the second group was too big. Hawk aka Brian was the best. I would recommend this Carriage company. It was worth the money.

It was an excellent tour on an unusually cold and rainy night in the Quarter. She had blankets for my girls, and as a local, we were impressed with Charlotte's knowledge. I highly recommend her for a tour of the Quarter.

Great experience on the carriage ride through the French Quarter. Aileen is very knowledgable about the history of New Orleans. Look for a sweet blonde if you go visit. It is worth it!

Brian and Crawdaddy's trip around New Orleans was great. Brian's explanation of how history unfolded was great too!

Me and my husband did a haunted tour at night. Brian knows a lot about the history of New Orleans and the ghosts that haunt it. We had a wonderful time and learned a lot. Crawdaddy was very sweet.

Lucy and Pretty Boy gave us an excellent carriage tour through the beautiful French Quarter! This is the second carriage ride my husband and I have taken with Lucy. We enjoyed her so much that we knew our kids would too. We traveled with our 6 year old daughter and 9 year old son. Lucy shared her knowledge on New... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
