We took our grandchildren on the Creole Queen/Chalmette Battlefield tour. The whole excursion was very well done. Wendell, who does the on-board historical presentation (NOLA history and War of 1812), gives a very understandable little lecture -- he leads his audience from point to point...More

The riverboat cruise was fun and informative. Wendel was our tourguide and he did a very thorough job. He not only gave us a good historical overview, but also added cultural insights as well. The battlefield tour was also interesting, but not as interesting as...More

Not quite as expected. The boat was ok, the staff seemed a bit long in the tooth. The commentary was knowledgeable but I lost interest fairly shortly after we sailed. We opted for all inclusive lunch. Food was ok but nothing special. Overall, a very...More

Lovely Paddle Boat. Smooth ride. Friendly staff Amazing Creole Buffet Lunch Unfortunately the river cruise is not scenic as the river is fairly industrial. The stop at the battle ground was also underwhelming Saying this, I cannot fault the knowledge of our guide Dr Wendel....More

My husband and I took a 3-hour tour that included a visit to Chalmette Battlefield. The boat was nice and the crew members were pleasant. What really impressed us, though, was our tour guide. Charles was brilliant! We enjoy guided tours and have been on...More

I did not think the welcome to the boat was the best but once we got seated at our table it was a welcoming experience from there forward. The food at dinner was much better than I was expecting, the gumbo was the best I...More

A few months back as we were trying to decide what to do on New Year's Eve the first thing we agreed upon was we were too old to simply stagger down Bourbon Street on such a crazy night. 15 or 20 years ago, sure,...More

Ours was a historical cruise, with a historical narrator and a stop at the Chalmette Battlefield. We loved the cruise! It was our first activity and it was definitely a great way to start. It helped us appreciate New Orleans more as we explored the...More

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts

I would've loved it just as much as a solo traveler. As soon as you're done eating, get a drink, head upstairs and enjoy the music as the sun goes down. Not awkward at all.
