We had a delightful tour with our guide, Bruce Nolan. Bruce explained the amazing history of the French Quarter with a wealth of knowledge about the buildings, the history, and the fascinating people who built the city. It was one of the most enjoyable and memorable tours we have ever taken. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed hearing the history of some old buildings and restaurants in the french quarter, and of course, having a cocktail at these places was nice. Sandra Smith our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative on our walk.

Had an excellent informative talk done by enthusiastic tour guide Billiejo. Pointed out lots of interesting detail that we would have missed just doing a self guided walk.

We had a fabulous time on our French Quarter Walking Tour with our tour guide BilliJo! She shared so many facts and stories about the French Quarter, we came away from the tour knowing so much more about this great city. We were impressed with her knowledge and also her friendly, caring attitude towards the group. It was extremely hot... More

We had a great walking tour of the French Quarter, Julie, our tour guide was great. Having lived here for many years she provided much insight to the history of the French Quarter. We met several couples at dinner and recommended the tour without hesitation.

The tour was a great combination of local history with some good anecdotes thrown in plus stops at a cafe and couple of the museums...... with very welcome AC to cool us down. Thought it was well paced and took us away from some of the main tourist bits. Daniel our tour guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable.

We had an excellent walking tour of the French Quarter and never needed to go near Bourbon Street. A great way to spend the afternoon.

We did the French Quarter Walking Tour with Billi Jo from Graylines Tours. The French Quarter is a great place with a lot of history. There should be a lot to talk about. Unfortunately our guide wasn't the best of all. She was very friendly and did her best, but her knowledge of the Quarter was insufficient. Next time we're... More

This review is for the walking tour associated with the City Sightseeing Hop-On, Hop-Off Tour. From the first few minutes of meeting our guide, Charles. It was obvious that we were going to have a fun time! He had a great personality which he injected into every second of his narrative on the history of the French Quarter. He covered... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
