I am a little bit of an experienced photography hobbyist, and after attending this class, I learned more about photography than what I knew. Natasha is a wonderful teacher and is good about explaining techniques and stuff. Would definitely recommend this tour/ class to anyone wanting to improve their photography skills or just to learn how to do photography in... More

I recently visited New Orleans and took both the French Quarter tour and the Garden district one. Natasha was awesome. I am an amateur photographer with some knowledge of cameras but my friend has little knowledge. Natasha was great at providing assistance for both of us. Both tours ended up being private, just my friend an I. I would highly... More

I'm an experienced hobbyist but have never had instruction into shooting really interesting street scenes, buildings and urban settings in general. The instructor was GREAT. I used both my DSLR and my I-Phone on the shoot. I highly recommend it for people of all levels and equipment -- point and shoots, DSLRs and cameras in phones -- if you want... More

I booked this ages before my trip as I tend to get excited about this sort of thing. I certainly wasn't disappointed but it did turn out I was the only one on the workshop. I learned so much about photography and the area it was definitely a highlight. The guide was very supportive, informative and funny too! Apparently there... More

I've been to New Orleans several times for conferences, but added an extra day to wander. Found this workshop on-line and decided to register. What an amazing experience! The instructor was professional and really friendly. Not only did she provide great camera tips, but also set up some fantastic and unique shots and viewpoints. We were never rushed to move... More

I was visiting the city for the weekend and this tour was a great way to spend the morning exploring the area with a local guide. I was the only one booked in but it still went ahead, so a big thank you to American Photo Safari as I'm sure there are other companies out there that would cancel if... More

I went on the tour Saturday morning and it was a great mix of casual shooting, chatting, and getting shown around the French Quarter. Our guide was happy to work with another person on their cell phone app in "pro mode" and with showing shots she liked and trying to get to know what others liked. As she learned she'd... More

This was my first photo tour and I it was fantastic. We were two groups, ours with 5 people and the other with 2. We had a a teenager and a younger child, and Natasha was patient with each one of us, explaining settings, lighting, and much more. Some of us only had iPhones and never knew we had all... More

I had a delightful morning walking through the French Quarter with Natasha! I was the only one signed up and she didn't cancel the tour. Amazing. It was wonderful to be able to slow down and keep taking pictures until I got it right instead of constantly running to catch up with a non-photo taking group--or my spouse. :-) She... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
