We rented a Air B and B in the Marigny and couldn't be happier. The neighborhood has serveral small grocery stores, cafes and resturants. The location is the best.

We are staying in a vacation rental house on Elysian Fields Ave and couldn't be happier. We parked our car in front of the house when we arrived 2 days ago and it hasn't moved. We have walked everywhere- to Frenchmen St ( one block...More

New Orleans is not just the French Quarter. Frenchman Street in Fauborg Marigny is where some of the best music can easily be accessed. But a daytime stroll around the streets offers up some great examples of distinctive local architecture.

You may have heard of Frenchmen Street. This is the neighborhood, it's located at or "in". It's directly outside the French Quarter, inside a very quiet part of town. Just try not to get lost in the Marigny Triangle... ha! Oh, and the term faubourg...More

Great area to view architecture and the renaissance of post-Katrina NOLA. A fair number of the structures have and are being rehabilitated and brought back to life following decades of decline. Vibrant and alive.

It used to be a delighful secret to locals, but it's still a great area for reasonable local music and fun eats. It represents a quaint and historical area of New Orleans.

Very nice and authentic neighborhood. Go there for the clubs on Frenchmen street, but go though the little streets and feel the spirit of the place

My adult family & I stayed in a shotgun-style rental home in The Marigny for a week-long June vacation. The immediate area had a mix of rehabbed & undergoing-rehab dwellings, but the variety of architectures & exterior decorations & paint schemes were a real treat...More

We stayed in a private rental on Royal St near Franklin. It was an easy walk to the French Quarter, very near Frenchman Street, and a variety of small restaurants and coffee shops. Neighborhood is gentrifying so it is a mix of people and housing,...More

Searched on Google for Sunday afternoon music venues and found Bamboulas on Frenchmen Street in the Marigny neighborhood. The Bon Bon Band was playing and they are amazing. Recommend using Uber or taxi as parking can be a problem.

Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward,
the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely
residential. Of course, folks around here love to go
out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere
in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the
festivities, well then so much the better! Home to
some of the most revered live music venues in New
Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining

From Canal St (Central Bus District) you would follow the river and first you hit the French Quarter, then the Faubourg Marigny and then the Bywater. They are all built along the river, the original city. Short distance... More
