Nice building. It's pretty cool on the inside as well- invoking an industrial as well as a Serra-like feel. They were unfortunately renovating, only a couple of exhibits were open. Hence reasonably, the entry was free as well. A good cafe and shop inside.

The building looked cool from the outside and we love visiting art museums when traveling. Admission was $10/pp.... Which was about $10 too much. This should really be a donation only attraction. A handful of pictures were sporadically hung on the walls.... Along with other...More

The show that was up took the entire building into consideration. More importantly the work engaged the viewer in a fantastical way by compelling the view to ask what was being looked at, was this part of the interior design or is it the art?...More

It cost me $26 to stare at nothing; there was three levels of galleries, but one floor was white walls with three random black canvases, another gallery was of a film just talking about the streets, and the last floor was black cubes on the...More

The range of opinions on the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans are all valid - it all just depends on what interests you. The CAC is located across the street from the Ogden Museum of Art, which is larger and has a more extensive...More

Waste of time and money. Hardly any art inside and the art they did have was overwhelmingly typical and uninspiring. Go instead to galleries on Julia Street or across the street to the awesome Ogden. Very disappointed. No food in the "cafe" either.

Very disappointed with this museum. Looking at the four-story building, you'd think it would be full of art. Not so much. Museum is only on the bottom two floors and the work is sporadic and unimpressive. Go next door to the Ogden Museum of Southern...More

What a disappointment. Spartan exhibits with little attraction. Save your money and your time. Instead, go across the street to the Ogden Museum Much more satisfying.

For such an enormous building, I was disappointed in the volume of contemporary work on display. The major exhibit “En Mas’ Carnival and Performance Art of the Caribbean” filled an entire floor but is primarily video. Often the earphones didn’t work. One audio earphone was...More

It's true that there aren't a lot of exhibits here, but the space is unique and beautiful and the art that is there is interesting. It's worth taking a look and is right across the street from the Museum for Contemporary Southern Art which is...More

Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district
is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing
assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having
moved in and set up shop throughout the disused
warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much
of the art you'll come across here is local in scope,
ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old
brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and
