Description:

Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest...

Ride with us at Confederacy of Cruisers, New Orleans original and oldest bike tour company. Going on 10 years of great tours and great customers keeping us feeling like the luckiest folks in New Orleans every day when we come to work. The tour that started them all and our others, the Culinary, the History of Drinking and our combined Pedal to Paddle with our friends at Kayakityat.

New Orleans is so more than the French Quarter and we want to show you what most visitors don't get to experience. The heart of our city is seen through its other historic neighborhoods on the Creole side of Town, the beautiful Faubourg Marignyand Bywater; and there is no better way to explore them than with New Orleans' original bicycle tour company. Join us as we take you for a bike ride around the old streets and tell you the stories of the New Orleans that most tourists miss. The ride is relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions, and a stop along the way at a neighborhood bar where you can find out all you want about local life while drinking a delicious Bloody Mary, if you like (water or nothing are also fine choices). For those who want to delve a little deeper, we offer a tasty Neighborhood Culinary Tour and a Historic Drinking Tour (where you get to indulge as you learn), all travelling through our our city like the locals do, on easy to ride classic cruiser bicycles. One speed, slow.

One of the best things we did in New Orleans

We booked the culinary tour with Confederacy of Cruisers and had Victor as our guide who had grown up in the neighbourhood and had a career in food before becoming a guide. He seems to know everything about food and it seems that everybody knows Victor - as we cycled around everybody shouted hi. It was really really fun. The... More

Loved everything about this novel way to see a little and taste a lot of the city! Derek was relaxed and fun while still being informative. The biking itself is not at all strenuous (it's really flat in NOLA). I think the price is so reasonable given 4 hours of pure fun and enough food to fill everyone and still... More

Victor was our tour guide. He is quite the historian with lots of experience in the food industry. There were 10 of us in the group, seemed like a good size. We went to 4 restaurants (dessert was second stop thank goodness, otherwise we might not have been able to enjoy Loretta's awesome Praline filled beignets). Biking was a fun... More

Our tour leader Keith gave us a terrific tour of parts of New Orleans that we would have likely not seen otherwise but were so worthwhile, authentic, beautiful and interesting. He was a font of history, information, and stories all told very quickly and with incredibly dry humor and warmth. As a native of the city, his love and respect... More

So I'm conflicted. I'm mostly positive about this experience, although what follows will sound critical. Our tour guide Derek and he is the guy you want for a tour of New Orleans. He is knowledgable and passionate about his city. There was a lot of pedalling to get to the sites, which was problematic because 1) we were pedalling through... More

I took the Creole New Orleans tour the week before Fat Tuesday. Derek was our guide and was a delight! He was so knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our interests. He is an 11th generation native and is getting his PhD in history. He could answer any question we had. The biking was not strenuous if that is your... More

Super fun tour- learned a bunch, had great drinks and saw so much of the city. I would suggest doing this early into your stay in New Orleans so you know what you have to go back to. This is a must (do an early day trip so it's not too warm).

I have been to New Orleans a dozen times. This is the absolute best thing you can do with your time or money. Nothing is more New Orleans than Confederacy of Cruisers.

We took the culinary tour on St Pats Day this year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Victor was incredibly knowledgeable about the food and all things New Orleans. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to learn a little more, burn a few calories and eat delicious food you otherwise likely wouldn't!

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
