For just watching people -- and especially if you appreciate the arts, both display and performance -- it's hard to beat Jackson Square. It's very enjoyable even if you don't spend a dime -- though there are plenty of opportunities to spend a few dollars....More

Beautiful area. Street entertainers and artists line the square. Very historical, site where the Louisiana purchase was completed. Beautiful cathedral to visit!

Grounds kept up. Vendors ware around the square are very interesting. Park benches fabulously place to take a break from the sun and enjoy the surroundings. Loved it.

Each and every visit to NOLA should include a visit to this beautiful place. The art for sale is beautiful, the architecture is amazing and has easy access to the river.

NOLA is a fairly intense city, and Jackson Square is a calm, pretty place to visit in the middle of the craziness.

I loved walking through the square after visiting Cafe du Monde just looking at the offers of local artist. Nice shaded area that a little more quiet than some of the surrounding streets.

The square itself is open everyday, 8am to 7pm. Most shops and restaurants around the square are open much later.
