I was drawn to this area when I caught glimps of the St Louis Cathedral. I was walking toward the church when I heard live music and noticed across from the church was a park. It was such a cool experience. People were gathered to listen to the musicians and cheer on their performance. In the park was a lovely... More

We went here after eating at Cafe Du Monde which is right across the street. On a clear sunny day you'll get a great view of all the sights in the square. Good spot to take come pictures and relax on a bench after walking around being a tourist all morning.

Quintessential NOLA complete with shops, music, fortune telling and more. We went on several occasions to people watch and sample some local culture. The cathedral is incredible.

The park has vendors all around it for any arts you may want. Located right by the museums and St. Louis Cathedral

When we visited, street performers and musicans were glutting the area. Loved the variety. One concern, solicitors are everywhere. But like everyone else in NOLA, they're so charming, you happily give them your money.

Street performers, card readers, and art work everywhere! Great place to walk through, right next to Cafe Du Monde :) Grabbed some beignets to go and walked around enjoying the art.

This place is so relaxing. A true feeling of the south. Went here on a tour then sat here to take a break while i ate my sandwich. I saw people from different ages, race, and background all sat together and watched a drummer put on a performance right in front of the church at jackson square.

Quintessential New Orleans. I never tire of wandering around the square, looking at the architecture, the artists and of course people watching.

This is an area the size of a short block. It is fenced, with a pretty little park inside. There is a large statue of Andrew Jackson inside, hence the name. In back of the Square is the St. Louis Cathedral, which you should take the time visit. In front of the Square are horse and carriages for hire. It... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
