Jackson Square is hopping most of the day and night, with a variety of artists, entertainers, and musicians! A fun place to stroll and enjoy the sights and sounds. The park itself is lovely too, with many benches for pausing to rest while listening to...More

This is just a few minutes from the river and Bourbon Street. It is only small and will not take you long to walk around, but it is nice to do so whilst in New Orleans. They lock the gates at night so you can...More

We have always liked the square but it is a bit run down and sad to see. There were MANY homeless people all around, sitting on the benches or sleeping on the ground. It was painful to see. I don't know what the answer would...More

About the only thing I didn't like about this area was the amount of panhandlers roaming the grounds. The city needs to step up and take care of that. You can't walk 10 feet without being asked for money.

Lots of street vendors with original art forms. No resisting. You've got to take a piece home. Also a lovely Catholic cathedral, St. Louis (pronounced Louie's) Authentic cobblestone streets. Wear comfy shoes. You'll do a lot of walking here...so much to see and do.

Present company (Jackson) excluded, the park is lovely. The artists are talented and display beautiful finds. Musicians are also great. The day we went, there was a wonderful Violin 🎻 player.

Where are the kitty cats? My daughter & I went down to Jackson Square to find there were no kitties running around. Otherwise it's a nice place to visit. Just beware of the guy who tries to shine your shoes with a rag.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living

The river boat cruises are about 10 min walk to Jackson Square. The GOP on bus is in the same area of cruises depending on service you use. March the weather should be pretty nice
