Wandered from our hotel down to this park and found the trail system. Casually strolling along when all off a sudden there's at least 40 goats "working" on clearing an area! Even some baby goats. Was so cool we had to walk back over there the next day to see them again. What a fun surprise!

Bring your camera and look north. You will see the burgeoning Madison skyline across tranquil Lake Monna as you watch sailboats skim across the placed water

This park has a boat launch with several piers. There is an incredible view of the Madison skyline across the lake. Many bike and walking paths.

We went here on a beautiful Sunday morning for an outside wedding. Scenic views from Downtown Madison was the backdrop for the bride and groom's ceremony.
Afterwards, guest were shown to the rustic barn for the reception. It is something seen in magazines and was picture perfect!
The food served was wonderful as was the staff. If I were getting married, I would definitely want my wedding here!
The only drawback is people in the park seemed to have little respect for the ceremony. They were blasting their stereo (rap music), which I thought was quite rude. They could have waited 10-15 minutes to turn it back on. Otherwise, the sound of all the birds singing really was another lovely addition.
The park has a nice path for jogging or walking around. A shaded playground for the kiddos is great and there is a boat ramp and beach area for water enthusiasts.

On the shore of Lake Monona with views of the city skyline, the state capitol, the John Nolen causeway, and a memorable holiday light display.

Parked in the north lot - still not sure I understand the parking restrictions there, but did not get a ticket. Great starting point for a bike trip through Madison. Bathrooms available.

Great location for a stroll and to take in the views of the City across the lake. Plenty of parking if required and if you feel up to it you can walk from your hotel (Holiday Inn Express)

I've been to the light display at Grand Geneva several times but this one is much better. More displays and a fair amount of creativity on display. Plenty of spots to pull over and just observe without disrupting traffic flows.

Free parking is a bonus to the pleasant-enough park which is well cared for. Visited in June and noted though a lack of colour (flowering shrubs).

Saw the event on the news, decided to make the hour and a half drive. It's small, but worth it. Drive through only, but offers tractor rides through.
A great way to start the holiday season with family.
