Twelve of us went on a tour of the Unitation Meeting House as a part of a trip to see things by FLW in the Madison area. The tour was thorough and interesting. We saw the original FLW structure inside and out and discussed its design. We also toured the two additions to the meeting house and the issues of... More

Frank Lloyd Wright was commissioned to design the Meeting House in 1946 and the congregation finished it in 1951. It is well worth a visit with many eloquent and skilled orators, musicians and choir.

I'm biased since I attended this church as a child but we found it the perfect venue for our wedding and reception. Guests from as far away as California were wowed by it. Can't beat Frank Lloyd Wright.

This famous church building, housing an active congregation to this day, introduced me to Frank Lloyd Wright--I lived just around the block for a decade. As usual, this building highlighted a recent DIY tour of Wright-influenced architecture--common around the Madison area. But one feature distracts, every visit: The impressive array of giant organ pipes next to the sanctuary window, a... More

As a Frank Lloyd Wright fan, I stopped by for a few pics. A staff person told me I could come inside and was very friendly. A lovely building and a real treasure.

The staff was very kind. They have pictures of the church members working on the construction. Worth a short visit. Be sure to check the tour schedule.

Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built by Marshall Erdman it is the meeting house for the First Unitarian Society a thriving Unitarian Universalist community of over two thousand members. The large steam pipe organ that rest against the main congregational window reminds many Star War fans of Darth Vader's Helmet. If you attend a Sunday serve a free tour... More

Completed in 1951, this is one of the last commissions of Frank Lloyd Wright, whose parents were Unitarians. The building's dramatic glass prow gives the illusion of a ship cutting through the waves. Free tours are offered on Sundays after the 9am and 11am services.

My wife and I were in Madison for a visit, and we included a visit to this Wright designed church. It is easy to quickly view and tour on your own without taking the "tour"

We spent an hour and a half with our very knowledgeable guide, who taught us a lot about Frank Lloyd Wright and his personality quirks. We love to discuss architecture and our group was very stimulating.
