A classically designed and beautiful governmental building that is currently home to the most vile and venal governor known to man. Hopefully his residence will end in 2018.

Amazing history of the building and the sources of building materials that were use. Marble from all over the world. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. They spent time explaining things and offering interesting information about the building and its history.

Great building with awesome architecture and the balcony gives you great views of the city and lakes. We stopped on a Saturday morning and the place was open and accessible - we wandered around for awhile and really enjoyed it!

Worth the walk to view inside and out. Definitely walk the perimeter of the building for a complete view. It's lovely in the fall.

If you have never seen the Wisconsin State Capital you have missed a gem. Stunning sums it up. The different types of stone work, the rotunda and dome are only inches shorter than the US Capital. The four wings have history all over them. Open...More

A wonderful Capitol to tour on your own with a group. You can roam about the fine marble and see a state at work or just admire the architecture. A great way to spend an hour or two (or more if you are an enthusiast)z

We were very impressed with the state capitol. The variety of stone used in its construction, the murals, and the attention to detail an the wood work are all quite impressive. The fact that the major rooms are open to the public is unusual, and...More

Actually, the tree is dragged (!) inside the Monday after Thanksgiving. It takes a few days to decorate it, and the official lighting ceremony is that Friday, this year, Dec. 1. (I've worked there for 16 years.)
