This is a fantastic garden to visit any time of the year! It changes quite a bit from season to season, so be sure to bring your camera! I love the Thai Pavilion, simply gorgeous with great reflecting pools!
The Thai temple is unique to the US of A. The gardens are special and in the winter you can visit the tropical dome to escape the icy grip and for a spell feel like you are nice and warm and somewhere else.
Some friends and I try to meet up somewhere every fall. This year I read about and picked this spot as Madison is a halfway point for all. I was absolutely amazed at this gem - free parking, free access to the outdoor areas and...More
We went to this place on a sunny afternoon. The outdoor gardens are free & you go through the gardens at your leisure. Different groups were there for formal pictures. Afterwards we went to the bier garden across the highway. We’ll definitely be back.
We heard of this place from our future son-in-law so decided to check it out. It was well worth the visit. The outdoor gardens are free and are very expansive. The Thai pavilion and gardens are very interesting, especially in Wisconsin!
Had some extra time while in Madison so went to see the outdoor gardens in Olbrich Botanical Gardens. Don't miss the Thai Pavilion section. It features the pavilion that the government from Thailand gave as a gift. It's the only one in the continental US....More
An Oasis of 16 beautifully landscaped varietal gardens in the heart of Madison. Butterflies abound, fountains, ponds and one of the most well designed city gardens I have ever visited. Perfect for a walk in the park.
Wonderful place to enjoy on a beautiful day! Amazing flowers and trees with landscaped paths that make you wonder, what around the next corner to explore. And the outside section has no admission fee, donations of any amount are welcomed.

Olbrich Botanical Gardens is located on the Capital City bike path, offering easy access to and from the gardens for bikers. However, bikes are not allowed inside the gardens or conservatory. There is plenty of bike parking by the entrance. There is also a B-Cycle station in the parking lot for visitors who wish to rent a bike and ride throughout Madison.
