The Cultural Center has a nice gift shop. The employees are very knowledgeable , friendly and helpful. We went to an outdoor circular courtyard with bleacher like seating in the back. Jack & Ramona were the Native American singers and dancers. The show was amazing! Several costume changes for the dances. They also sang and plyed different instruments. They gave... More

Nice exhibition with various kinds of better than average art. Really enjoyed the display of bringing water to the region. Picked up some Navaho Cards and pinto bean and Anazai Beans for soups this winter.

They have an area of the store reserved for local artists'paintings that are for sale. They have so much in their stock, from books, posters, jewelry and many other items.

We found out that this location does have evening programs in the summer. We were very lucky to see a Lakota dancer, that also played flute and told stories. We had a great time!

I've certainly seen larger, more impactful collections of local history. This is a small collection of scattered items from Ancestral Pueblos, local Cortez residents, and other random pieces. As often is the case in smaller museum like this I found ithe conversation with the volunteers more stimulating than anything else. We were fortunate to see a Ute family perform some... More

Cant beat free! Check out this museum just off the main street. Parking in rear. Local artists exhibits. Native American from this area artifacts. Also pioneer settlers items. Books for sale. Evening free dances are quite popular. The style rotates between Native American and Authentic Western. Check out the rear outdoor exhibit too.

The Cortez Cultural Center is one of the features of Cortez that drew us to settle here. During the spring into fall, there is evening programming every night except Sunday, switching between native programming and old West programming--very inclusive and high caliper performance with some audience participation. Inside the building there are local artisans works for sale--jewelry and pottery for... More

We came here one evening to see the display that some native Americans do. The center itself is sparce but the staff very helpful. Most evenings they put on the native American display and both the wife and i found it excellent. They dance, sang and answered many questions, it was a great way to spend an hour.

Great place saw only the dancing. Costumes were very nice and dancing was great and inspirational. Beautiful outside atmosphere very friendly cast. narrator could have used a little better attire to look professional or fit in with the dancers. He was very informative though obviously family traditional business. Very impressive surprise in the middle of Cortez.
