We wish we would have had more time to explore trails, but we definitely enjoyed picnicking here for lunch! Make sure to have a full tank of gas when driving through here though as GPS signal was spotty and there weren't many gas stations on the scenic road.

Very easily accessible by car, the drive through the forest is beautiful, there are some stunning views along the road, where you can stop and take a picture. The spring was just starting to come when we visited (three weeks ago) and I assume it is even more beautiful in full color.

This forest was a pleasure to drive through. The scenery and wild life was abundant. The road was winding and hilly.

Many trails, beautiful, accessible and the fall colors were still good even in November . Unable to get to watch tower due to rain but great gift shop up there too!

I loved the drive up the steep roads in the mountains and the lake has the most beautiful, clear water that I have ever seen. My boyfriend and I are considering staying in the cabins on Lake Ouachita.

I've only recently taken up hiking, but I love it. Hiking through the forest was a little simpler than some of the other trails I've been on, but the hike was steeper. It's truly a beautiful place to visit.

We drove through the forest with the intention of visiting the Hickory Nut Overlook. The roads become unimproved roads. The drive becomes a drive of uncertainty because the road is not paved. It seems like upgrading the road is long overdue. Once we arrived at Hickory Nut Overlook we were surprised at the scenic beauty. Lake Ouachita was beautiful from... More

It looked great, we just couldn't find any accessible trails or places to explore in. Trail heads didn't seem to be marked well.

Small hills and forest. Just right for using those up/down walking muscles. Really beautiful place to get some exercise and mental rest before relaxing in the baths at Hot Springs. Easy to moderate hike in beautiful surroundings.
