We were delighted that AR state parks are free. They are supported by a 1/8 cent sales tax. We hiked to the "falls" but never found it and the trail was difficult for us (seniors). Enjoyed it!

Pulled an RV in here and enjoyed the quiet scenery. It's a notch off the beaten patch, yet not too far from Downtown Hot Springs. We'll be back!

Absolutely loved this park. Lots of trees, roomy full hook-up sites. Rented a pontoon boat from the marina and could pull it right up to the dock by our RV. Swimming beach. The place reminded me of summer camp when I was a kid. Would...More

Took the hike to the popular waterfall. It was a pretty easy hike but you still need closed toe tennis shoes and clothing other than a swimsuit. If you don't want to hike, just go in at the end of the trail to see the...More

Lake Catherine is a nice smaller lake, coming out of Lake Hamilton, which comes out of Lake Ouachita. Although there are homes built on this lake, it is less traveled than Lake Hamilton. The water is very cold and not so many boats.

We walked the trails and enjoyed it. The kids favorite part was playing in the waterfall. We will definitely be visiting again.

Don't go for the waterfall now - it is dry (early October 17). The ranger we saw said it is often dry at the end of the summer - spring is best time (after all the rain of course).

Yes, they have some very nice cabins. They also have a couple of Yurts. Cabins are often booked months in advance so check with them before you go. Plenty of places to stay in Hot Springs and Arkadelphia.
