We went with a group of friends. We went to see the traveling Route 66 exhibit. It was pretty disappointing. However, the museum proper was a pleasant surprise. We watched the video before touring the museum. This was a good idea. The movie was well done and filled in gaps. Overall, worth the time.

On a road trip we saw a freeway sign for the library. Had to stop and glad we did! It's a small (by comparison to other libraries) inside but fun displays. The grounds, however, are expansive and beautiful! Highly recommend a stop here

Informative museum without so much detail you can't enjoy it. Just enough information. Little walk around the grounds which include the house hoover was born and Quaker Meeting house.

My wife and I are both 70, so we didn't have memories of President Hoover. Well, we do now! This visit to a first class museum was very informative as to what a great person he was. The only reason he wasn't a very successful President is because the Great Depression came along and he was blamed for it. This... More

We visited on a nice bright Saturday in February. Start with the film after you gain admission, it explains a lot of what the library and museum is about. While simple, it is very informative and worth the time. Hoover inherited the Great Depression despite warning President Coolidge it would come a year before Hoover was elected. We enjoyed it.... The library is a great place to take children and enjoy the history. Watching the video Hoover took over at the wrong time, but had good intentions. He mentioned to Coolidge that there could be problems in the future unless things changed, but Coolidge didn't listen. Hoover and his wife did a lot of good for people, but was left... More

This is the third presidential museum my husband and I have visited. This time we went with friends. We've also been to the Truman and Clinton libraries. The Hoover museum was much smaller than either of the other libraries we have visited, but we still learned so much. I found it nice that it was smaller because it didn't seem... More

We take foreigners to the museum and they love it. You see the life of an American who saved millions of people during WWI and then set the stage for helping after WWII. Many do not know the true life of this President.

Very visitor friendly complex including the HH Presidential Library and Museum. Some of the exhibits lacked details such as dates and not many were interactive but the collection was very nicely laid out. Definitely worth a look to better understand the influence of intangibles on the life of orphan Bert Hoover and the legacy of President Herbert Hoover.

My husband and I live in nearby Cedar Rapids and have drove by the signs for this presidential library many times but have never bothered to stop. I didn't really know much of anything about Hoover so wasn't sure if his museum would be of interest. We were looking for an excuse to get out of the house on a... More
