I always travel with my 6 year old son. The house of Baba Ong Boen Tjit is a really comfortable and save for children. In order to reach the house we must ride a small boat to cross the Musi River and that's the thing that give a really nice experience

as the oldest city in Indonesia, Palembang saw a very strong influence of arab, india, and china in their own culture, and Ong Boen Tjit Mansion is the best place to see that acculturations in Palembang, Ong Boen Tjit Mansion is the only Chinese heritage left in a good conditions in Palembang and really safe and ready to welcome any visitors.
it place on a bank of mighty Musi River, a river with 300 meter wide, so wide that local peoples call it 'laut' or 'sea' 'ocean'.
from Ong Boen Tjit Mansion you can enjoy a sunset, the mansion has a wide plaza in front of it, with it plaza fences right beside the river, so you can see a light of sunset falls on the water of the river directly, so beautiful.

To reach this place we have to use a small boat, it s fast boat , traditional one, I did'dnt do some research before to visit this place, just sudden decision to see old palembang.
It was unexpected place to see, when the boat stopped we had to walk on a wooden bridge connectiong the river to the mainland, It was weekdays and the market was closed, nobody there, but finally find the owner of the house, he is very nice and friendly guy, he is the descendant of Baba Boen Tjit, the one who take care of the house. he explain about the house it self and all made from the wood age more than 200 years. It was a pleasant experience to let the kids know the culture and enjoy the adventure

I was trying to reach this place over land transport, however access were too crowded as it passing market. push us to cancel the trip, I found out that these can be accessed via boat. then we decided went via boat on Musi sightseeing.
Boat driver told that these place were close few months back, shown that there's no activity, quiet place and no access from boat.
Shown bit untidy place far from picture uploaded here. We decided to continue trip to Ki Merogan Mosque

We parked our car about 500 meters and walked to the place. Arrived there but they closed so could not see inside. It must be good vintage chinese house.
