President Harry S Truman took America from its traditional isolationism into the age of international involvement. Despite his power, he never forgot where he came from. Today, visitors can experience the surroundings Truman knew as a young man of modest ambition through his political career and final years as a former president.

Beautiful home. You walk inside and it is exactly like it was when Mrs. Truman passed away. Same furniture and accessories throughout. President Truman's and Mrs Truman's coats were still handing on the hook by the back door where they were last placed by them....More

The really cool thing about this was it's basically in exactly the same decoration and setting as the day Mrs. Truman passed. The woodwork in the home is amazing and to think it's about 140 years old boggles the mind. It was disappointing that you...More

Well preserved. We loved the history of the place and the antique feel of the home. Our guide was very informative and made the place come alive. We highly recommend in conjunction with a visit to the library and museum.

I loved the tour of this home. Its as it was when H.S. Truman lived there, even has his coat and hat hanging in the hall and his car in the garage. The tour and the guide really gave insight into how ordinary Truman was....More

Unfortunately, I was here on a Monday when it was closed, but the outside looked wonderful. The simple history of the site is worth the visit. I googled pics of the inside and the history of the house, though, so it all came together.

There is not much to this other than going inside the house that Truman lived in, but it is nice to see where President Truman spent a lot of his adult life, and that he was just a pretty normal guy. There is also a...More

If you have children, they can earn their junior ranger badge. They have a great visitor center and loved my individual tour of the home.

This is a short tour of the house that Harry S. Truman lived in before and after he was president. It was actually his wife's family home. Very interesting facts about the President's personal life. I very much enjoyed it.

We stayed at an RV park. A person could google for that information.
