This was a well placed museum and library that was easy to find. Good basic history of his life before and after. The main floor is all about the presidency. It really laid out the major decisions he made and how they are viewed through the lens of history. I really loved the Mural in the lobby by Thomas Hart... More

As citizens we really owe it to ourselves to understand our nation's history, and there's probably no better way than to start to do this through visiting the Presidential Libraries and Museums. The facility is right-sized for an easy and comfortable visit. When the weather is right, the grounds and setting are very attractive enjoyable. It's instructive to learn about... More

I've been to the Harry S Truman Presidential Museum several times. It is definitely a must-see destination if you're coming in the Kansas City area. There's so many things to see, I'm just not going to get into any particular thing. It is definitely worth your time. So if you're coming into Kansas City make sure you plan to stroll... More

Make sure to have plenty of time to view everything there are a couple of videos and it is two floors. Truman accomplished a lot during his time as president that we still see the effects of today. No snacks sold there so eat before going to the library. I was there for 5 hours looking at everything. Truman's office... More

Driving through town we saw a sign for the Truman library and thought why not tour the library! Glad that we did! Very informative, great artifacts, and just a very nice library to learn everything about Truman.

My husband and I visited on a week day and only a few other visitors were there! It was a history filled time of learning. We both learned so much about President. Truman and his family, besides learning a lot about world history. The movies were short and very informative. We spent a whole afternoon there. Would highly recommend a... More

This was my 8th Presidential Library. The exhibits are well labeled in chronological order. While there isn't much in the way of exhibit interaction, there is a bounty of material - both original and copies. The U.s.Forest Service Rangers were wonderfully pleasant and helpful. Museums & Libraries can always improve using new technology and materials. The Truman Library is good,... More

I visited the Truman museum on the same day I visited the Eisenhower one. Some people might argue that this rushing through the museum. I found it the opposite. I like seeing two presidential museums, who served one right after the other. The museum has many wonderful artifacts and grounds. The exhibits are nice. I did have to rush through... More

We came to Independence to tour the Harry S. Truman home and discovered the museum and library just down the road about a mile. The museum was very interesting and had many artifacts from Truman's time in office as well as WW I artifacts. There was a 45-minute video in the auditorium telling the story of Truman's life. Take the... More
