there are around 4 to 5 chocolate factories in Bali,i visited most of them. this year when the border reopened, before coming to Bali, i searched the internet, found that i never been to Primo chocolate factory, and they have chocolate making workshop too.so i booked a place via WA without hesitation. the factory is not at kerobokan, that one is their shop.the factory is located at Pejaten,Tabanan.when i arrived, Mr. Verdacchi welcomed me and my driver, he asked some questions, like why i love chocolate, hehe, i answered him because of Charlie, i meant a book written by Mr. Roald. then Mr. Verdacchi gave some information about making chocolate,i learnt a lot from him.after that, the workshop started, his wife and his team helped me a lot,cuz i am a beginner, not good at it. you will learnt some skills here, unlike other workshop, you just pouring chocolate liquor into a mould.workshop here more focus on the whole process of making chocolate,of course, without the team,i cannot handle it.when the workshop ended,i waited for my chocolate, and bought some chocolate bars here.it is the first time i bought Primo chocolate, they are pure, healthy and full of love. the packing is simple, but the taste is unforgettable.primo chocolate factory not big,it is a family owned business, but full of energy, they make chocolate with enthusiasm.a must try in Bali, especially for chocolate lovers!

This was an amazing experience for our family. From the moment we were welcomed by Giuseppe, to meeting his family and employees, we learned so much. The atmosphere was welcoming and we loved the opportunity to make chocolate, to learn about local chocolate and this business, and of course, to eat chocolate. They have a true passion for their chocolate and we took away some of this passion with us. We will remember this for a very long time. Thank yOU SO MUch for welcoming Us!

My husband and I learned about Primo after googling "best chocolate in Bali" and made plans to stop there at the end of a day out visiting temples and coffee farms. It was easily the highlight of the day. We were led back to the factory by an adorable little girl (daughter of one of the workers) clutching an equally adorable puppy, who kept repeating the two English words she knew ("chocolate" and "okay"). Neither my husband nor I like kids or dogs and yet the whole thing was charming beyond belief. The woman who greeted us and showed us around the workrooms was incredibly friendly and helpful. We saw Balinese women processing, grinding, and roasting cacao beans, and peeked inside the chilly tempering room where the finished chocolates are made. It really puts the "bean to bar" movement in a whole new light! They're doing great work, and clearly take a lot of pride in it.

Then we visited the store and spent a whole bunch of money on treats for ourselves and gifts for friends back home. (Unlike some lower-rent operations, there was no pressure to buy--the samples were motivation enough!) As a dark chocolate aficionada, I was pleased that the sweetest chocolate they had was 65%, with most products clocking in at 80%. The lady who gave us the tour mentioned that they do longer classes that include trips out to the plantation where the cacao is grown. Despite the fact my husband and I aren't professional chocolatiers by any stretch--we definitely want to plan our next Bali trip around doing a class!

80% of dark chocorgasm!
This place is for chocolate lovers, but beware, NO MILK!
PRIMO has it's small factory in Canggu.
When they say organically and locally produced... Well this is the literate example!
A small ice cold room where one member of staff in turn makes all the chocolates!

The Canggu shop also has a small bakery, best kept secret in Bali!

The. Verdacchi Family....both in Bali & Paciano, Italy are a special breed! They know how to run a business because to them it is more than a business....it is a passion!
You will not only learn about chocolate...you will learn about Slow Living, thanks to Giuseppe (Pepe) Verdacchi & family.
When you leave Bali, head to Il Fontanaro in Paciano, Italy (Umbria) & learn about olive oil, wine, honey '& slow cooking from Giuseppe's sister, Lucia & her daughter, Alina Pinelli. It will change your life forever"...

Today I visited the Primo Organic Chocolate Factory with my husband and three kids. We are all extreme lovers of great quality chocolate made with love and Giuseppe for sure does all of these things. We live partly in Bali and always buy chocolate made in Bali though when we found Primo we were amazed with the effort and quality of his chocolate so we decided to learn exactly how he made his chocolate! Giuseppe showed us everything in his work area, explaining each and every machine and how everything works. Afterwards, his wife Komang showed us how to sort the beans which is a long job and we respect everyone greatly at the Primo Factory as it is a difficult job ;) Continuing on, we shook the skin off the beans in bamboo trays. Making chocolate is a difficult process however they all do it with pure love!
Then we went and made our own chocolate, using rosemary!
In the Primo shop they sell so many varieties of chocolates mixed with pumpkin seeds, nutmeg, sesame seeds etc.
We couldn't stop buying all the beautiful flavours and are sad that we didn't find it earlier!
We recommend that everyone should come check out primo for the best chocolate EVER!
We're going to miss it whilst we are gone however have enough supply for the next year! :)
Thank you so much Giuseppe and Komang!!!
We'll be back!

Intimate and private chocolate making tour. You get to make your own bar and see different sets in chocolate making process. Small place so suitable for smaller groups mainly.

We got to ride with Pepe to multiple plantations, see how cacao is grown, meet farmers and locals, try several fresh fruits, see the "real" Bali. Pepe was an amazing guide not only sharing his love and knowledge for chocolate but also his philosophies and stories about life in Bali. Would recommend it to anyone specially if you like high quality chocolate
