This place had some older, positive reviews, but clearly, Charley left a LONG time ago! To access, you make your own path thru the trees. Site is filthy, rundown and a chocolate factory and/or tour does not exist. Zero food sanitation standards followed. When we declined the chocolate tasting, we were told that we would be charged whether we tasted or not - just for entering their property. When we went to leave they started hollering about payment. #scam

Don't go Scam.
A bunch of dilapidated unused buildings from a previous failed business. They make nothing on the premises and try to give a little tasting lesson with product that everyone's hands have been in. When you try to leave they will demand 10,000 rp for admission.
There is no longer a legitimate business at this location

Don't waste your time or money. They charge an entrance fee but no sign is posted. The place is run down. The storage and kitchen areas are dirty and unkept. It looks like it is on its last breath.

Beautiful place by the ocean. Cool arcitecture. Wouldn’t drive extra to get there though, only go if it’s on your way. You can buy dark chokholate to go or have a chocolate to drink there.

Not sign posted and on a dirt track which is somewhat bumpy. Appearance of being very rundown and abandoned. Staff didn't bother to greet us until we were near the "shop" area. I definitely said hello to the owner who walked straight past us and mumbled something. The view is excellent. Everything is very run down and poorly maintained. I was half heartedly offered some chocolate to taste and there were some soaps - but nothing more. Couldn't really see how they run classes - no demonstration was offered. I asked for a coconut juice from the menu only to be told we only do chocolate! Didn't stay more than 15 minutes.

We were taken here on a day tour from Candidasa. The free swings for the kids was the best of it. There was also a few cows that that kids like to pat. The chocolate is less than kid friendly. The ambience of the place is pretty cool.

I wouldn’t go out my way to come here but if your in the area and your killing time its ok. Great view of the ocean and some unique buildings. You have to be there by 9am if you want to see the small chocolate factory at work.

A total scam. Don't waste your time and money here. It is wrong for people to promote this place, to begin with there is no chocolate factory here, and all you are offered is some chocolate on a plate to taste. We ordered something to drink but had to waste it, it was so bad. As for the so called eccentric buildings, don't bother

Come on people! This is Bali at its most authentic. It’s not a Hollywood chocolate factory. It’s a small traditional village which will charge you $1 to see their way of life. Charly is an eccentric American who has lived in Bali 20+ years and become an icon. Have a chat with him, feel the warmth, spirituality and hospitality. This is not a “tourist spot” like WaterBom or Kuta Beach; this is true Balinese village life in all its unkempt authentic beauty. See it before it becomes commercialised.
