I didn't hike Mt. Agung or anything. I stayed in Amed for several days and was blessed to see the volcano on a daily basis. I am amazed by volcanoes and love seeing the clouds and weather patterns change throughout the day. Usually in mornings and late evenings it made an appearance but during the day it was mostly cloud covered. I recommend snorkeling at Amed Beach, you get awesome views of Mt. Agung from the water.
