I have been visiting Kota for the last 2 years to explore the immense natural beauty , which this place has to offer and i can confidently say that this is a hidden treasure which needs to be explored by anyone who wants to experience nature / birding / wildlife along with the perfect mix of culture / heritage / food . However each treasure box needs you to gain access to a key which would help you open it ! Kota Trails , is the key to the treasure box called Kota . This is a forum which has been created to help people experience this wonderful place which has never been truly recognised for its potential . People usually end up associating Kota with IIT & Medical coaching institutes whereas very few people know the beauty this place has to offer . This initiative was started by Col Keshvendra Singh and his wife Neha , so as to enable people from all parts of the country to come and relish the beauty of this place . Depending on the kind of experience you are looking for , they help you customise your holiday . I usually go to Kota for wildlife photography and this time i was travelling along with a group of friends who wanted to relax , have fun and celebrate a friends birthday We had two small kids with us and hence there were a lot of factors which had to be stated , including the request for a birthday cake for a friend. Such a trip was a blend of experiencing wildlife , the natural surroundings , the food and the heritage of this old City and hence we reached out to Col & his wife through Kota Trails and discussed our requirements . They spoke to us at length, understood what we were looking for and helped curate the perfect holiday . Each evening had something different and existing in store for us - One of the evenings we went for an exciting boat safari in the beautiful chambal river , sighting various birds and animals and the next day we went to see the gorgeous views from Gadaria Mahadev ( a pic which has been featured in a lot of magazines pertaining to Rajasthan ) , finishing off with a drive into the local forest area . Being people who love good food , all of us really enjoyed the wonderful food this place had to offer - the perfect mix of authentic Rajasthani and North Indian cuisine along with the mouth watering street food ( which can't be missed for sure ) . For people who love to eat Indian Sweets - Shambu Ji Sweet Shop is the perfect stop There are some quaint temples around the Chambal river which were the perfect spots to spend a nice morning . All of this was truly an experience because of the value add / guidance / support and warmth shown by the team behind Kota trails who really believe in sharing the love for their beloved city , along with their guests . Everything was professionally managed , starting from the pick up from the station till the end .
