Though there are multiple Wax Museums in Lonavala, people attracts towards Sunil Wax Museum. This is what made me curious to think about me to check more about Sunil wax museum background. Whatever information i could able to gather I have given below if you are interested you can go through the same.
If you are reading this review only to know about Sunil's wax museum, no doubt you can visit but only drawback is maintenance is very poor. There are more than 100 statues at Lonavala Wax Museum. The best I personally felt is Thakare' s Statue. It seems to be real one and so nicely made. some of the statue's are not so realistic.
History about Sunil's Wax museum:
Sunil's full name is Sunil Kandallor who born in a small village of Alappuzha district of Kerala. He has two brothers Sujith and Subash who are also part of this venture. The first full scale was statue that Sunil made was that of the former Kerala Chief minister Karunakaran and the second one was that of E.K. Narayanar who is also another former chief minister of Kerala. Sunil's Wax Museum venture started on 08th January 2010. Devgad and Thiruvanthapuram Museum's are opened in the year 2017.
Sunil's Wax Museum is spread across three cities in India out of which this Lonavala Wax Museum more popular. The Second one is at Devgad, Maharashtra State. The third one is latest one which is opened recently in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala State. Surprise news is he also obtained permission to start 4th one inside the Statue of Unity which is world largest statue. There were two Museums one at Kanyakumari and one at Kochi, but both were shutdown over time. I had visited Kanyakumari museum few years back.
Museum Timings:
Morning 09:00 to Evening 09:30
Entry Tickets:
200 INR per adults and free for Children's below 5 years

Museum is at a walkable distance from the railway station. Entry fees is 200 Rs per person for museum. Apart from museum there are other attractions like horror house etc for which separate ticket needs to be purchased or you can buy a combo ticket in the beginning itself. There are couple of other was museums in Lonavala.

1. The exhibits are maintained well.
2. The artisans are very successful with facial features of various celebrity
personalities. However, the height and body proportions are miserably wrong, thus
giving a feel that you are looking at miniature statues !
3. The entry fee is on the higher side.

After admiring Lonavala's picturesque beauty of hills and mountains, we turned to other attractions and started on a four-hour tour organized by Sterling Resort where we stayed. The Wax Museum was our first stop. It was worth the visit. There was a lot of wax statues of National and International celebrities, very well displayed. The statues were life-size and very realistic that the artistic talent of the Artist was well appreciated by all of us. We did not visit the Horror section of entertainment.
The attraction is open from 9 AM to 8 PM A few food stalls are available at the entrance near the ticket counter. The surroundings remain green and natural.

I would call it an average wax museum. The old statues are not maintained now. But for the effort Sunil made to get this place is commendable. You may skip but if you have kids show them around they'll have fun and might learn a bit too.

We visited Lonavala in July, rainy season which was a wrong decision I guess. Huge traffic jam and chaos. There are so many hoardings on the way of different wax museums. They just confuse more if you are visiting there for the first time. When we finally reached this place, we realised that it wasn’t worth the effort that we had made.
