If you are in South India - you should visit this temple. Positive energy is filled in this place . It’s around 800 years old temple situated near Ujire. It’s always crowded and you will see thousands of devotees around chanting 🕉 Namah Shivay 🙏🏻

hi I am a physically challenged person and my mom is senior citizen and ortho patient. when I requested temple staff they had responded very rudely that temple doesn't permit any special entrances like that. they didn't even had that humanity to allow even we both are eligible to take darshan in special Q line. temple security at main gate are very much habituated to allow normal people by taking 500 notes from them secretly. they have an super boss with white n white who sits in office located at main gate with whom we should literally go and beg for to allow in special Q but he didn't allow us despite of physically challenged with senior citizen mom, we returned back from Darmasthala without darshan, I felt Tirumala system was much better organized in treating people with special categories . STAFF is VERY MUCH RUDE AND CORRUPTED.

We had to wait on a Monday (maybe Kartik month Monday) for over two hours with VIP ticket and go through numerous winding lanes just to get a glimpse of Manjunatha Swami. The thousands of VIP ticket holders in the line would have covered partially the cost of free Annadhan which is Dharmasthala is famous for. After the long wait to get inside the temple, I was happy the Annadhan line was very short and the process of serving food for thousands of devotees was very efficient and eco-friendly. There were tables available for elderly people or those who who can not sit on the ground.

Trip to Dharmasthala (Mangalore). Sharing my experience to Dharmasthala and Kukke Subramanya on 8th & 9th October 2019. Roads are pathetic from Hassan to Sakleshpur & Sakleshpur to Shiradi ghat starting point except 5 kms around Sakleshpur. Bangalore to Hassan is a toll road, which is no issues. Bad experience starts from Hassan to Shiradi ghat (where the concrete road starts). Its very bad where we could use only 1st and 2nd gear. The concrete road was good. The approach to Dharmasthala from Mangalore highway is good, except small pot holes and very few. Dharmasthala to Kukke Subramanya road is good.

Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, the land of righteousness and piety, is one of south India’s most renowned religious landmarks with a history as old as 800 years. Manjunatheshwara, the chief deity of the spiritual abode, has taken the form of a shivalinga and made immaculate, the temple town of Dharmasthala since and forever. Lord Manjunatheshwara, is being worshipped in a very unusual yet exceptionally inordinate manner in Shree kshetra dharmasthala, as this Shaiva temple is beseeched by Vaishnava priests and administered by Jain descendants. “Dharmasthala”, the abode of dharma, is the quintessence of humanity and faith. As the name suggests, the word dharma in its truest sense means righteousness, it is the embodiment of the world’s most divine emotions in spite of one’s cast, creed or religion.

And food will be provided at there which taste absolutely fantastic 😋😋

Here lord siva is worshipped in the form of linga as manjunatha and goddess as kanyakumari.this temple is a shavaite while its priests were vaishnavites and the trustees who take care were of jains. Linga is believed to be brought from kashi by sages some 800 years ago for the wellbeing of the world,as manjunatha the protector.

Cleanest possible Temple town in India.

The Lord Manjunatheshwara is worshipped and rituals done on Vaishnava Style as per wish of Shri Vadiraja Tirtha of Sonde Mutt of Madhva philosophy. The specialty is this privatetemple management is headed by hereditary Jains!

Very clean city maintained by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatha Organisation. The corporation is not involved. Its the trust that maintains this place. Its the aim of Padma Bhushan and the Padma Vibhushan awardee to keep it as the cleanest religious place of India. The Public toilets maintained are also clean and so usable. Governments should learn form their management.

The Darshan facilities are made as comfortable as possible. We went this April 2018. It was hot, but the queue system has water mist spray on the top to keep pilgrims cool. There is quick Darshan queue for Rs 200. The security system is great, that takes care of peoples security. For RS.200, we get prasad packed neatly.

Summer is very hot. Barefoot burns. Better go in winter.

Wear footwear and keep in the temple footwear stand for a small fee Re 1 per pair before going to Darshan.

The Meals prasad is fast for the rush they have to manage, its really appreciable.

They have many rooms in different buildings in the area. Rooms are clean and clean tasty drinking water is available in all floors in the building Saket we stayed. The A/c room is Rs 2000, suitable for 4 people, well maintained. The regular rooms and toilets are also clean. Rs 200 per day. Their website allows booking of rooms in advance, but 2 days before. So plan accordingly.

People wanting to go to Kukke Subrahmanya, the last bus is 5pm.

This temple is one of the world famous temples.
Like Tirupathi is famous in Andhra Pradesh , So is this temple in Karnataka.

I will try to cover all the aspects related to this temple:

Reaching the temple:
The temple is located at a distance of 75kms from Mangaluru.
There are a lot of direct buses from Mangaluru as well as Bengaluru.

Place to Stay:
Lot of private as well as Temple trust lodges are available to stay.

Temple:
The temple is very very well maintained.
Cleanliness, guidance etc etc is very very well organized.
Normal Darshanam takes around 15-30 minutes on weekdays and around 1-2 hours on weekends based on the crowd.

There is a separate queue for special ticket which is priced at 200/- which takes very less time for darshanam when compared to Normal Queue.

Prasadam:
Prasadam tickets can be purchased in the queue before darshanam.

Lunch:
The temple offers lunch for the people visiting the temple.
Its a very huge hall and can accommodate a large number of people at once.
Timings :
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM
6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Must Visit place in Karnataka.
