The temple is located in Haripad district of Kerala. The closest railway station is Haripad. But frequency of trains are less in this station. So you can come to Kayankulam junction station. It's 30 to 35 minute drive from there. From Haripad railway station it's 10min drive. The temple is famous for solving fertility issues and pregnancy issues. It's believed and it's an experience for me too that if we prayed and there is a ritual of uruli kamazhthal done. Then within a year u have children. The temple main diety is Sree Nagaraja(snake God). Very powerful and traditional temple. No dress code issues. But no trousers. Can wear dhothi or pant. And ladies can wear churidhar or sarees

you enter this temple with lots of expectations and surely it won't let you down. There is something unusual about this place that makes you feel really good. Maybe overall calm and composed temple atmosphere or the greenness. If you are travelling this side. please make time for this temple. This is one of the must-visit temples of Kerala.

I visited more than 3 times with my family to this temple. This temple is famous for Nagaraja (The Snake God) and Sarpayekshi (The Snake Goddess). As per Hindu religion they are very powerful and can grant any wish as well as remove any kind of doshams (bad time or something like that). This temple is very famous for those who are not having kids for long time as per belief. ( I strongly agree to it - maybe I am an example of the same). I did follow the rituals for the same and whatever the reason is I got a child. So can't say anything. The ritual name is Uruli Kamazhthu. One important thing is you should only do this after 3 years of marriage and you don't have kids.
This temple is situated in near a place called Haripad. The nearest railway station is Kayamkulam railway station (approx 20km) and the nearest airport Cochin Airport (approx 100 km).
I would recommend you to visit the official website - http://www.mannarasala.org where you can get full information.

We visited this temple on our way to Aleppey. The temple is pretty big, unlike the snaps posted on line. And it is a lot busy. It has a seperate parking space for about 20+ vehicles. Left side of entrance is the seva ticket counters, and right side of entrance is a shop which has all necessary items which you can purchase of any sort of puja at temple. Other than these there are other shops which sell cloths, food etc.
The temple complex is also big, nobody is allowed to go near the nada, rather you are allowed to do the darshan from a bit of distance.
Uruli(small brass vessel)-Kamarthal/Nimarthal(turning it down/up)- This is a ritual, which is followed at this temple, after special prayer to Nagaraja. There is a story behind this. Couples who have not been blessed with a child yet, visit this temple to perform Uruli Kamarthal, and return when the child is born, to turn it up. Devotee has to purchase Uruli from shop outside after paying Rs500 for the pooja. Special prayers are performed and Uruli taken from Devotee, Kamarthal or Uruli and pooja every day is performed by Ammachi on your behalf. The total cost incl spcl dakshina to all the associated employees of the temple comes to about Rs.1000, if you are lucky, or it can be more.
If one has to gain special blessing from the Amma, one has to wait for a long time. It would be better to go early in the morning for this.

I Visited this temple on 21/02/2015 with my family from Alappuzha where we were camping. The main deities of the temple are the Nagaraja (the snake king) & Sarpa-yakshni (the snake queen). While the Almighty here fulfills the wishes of couples seeking children, the very visit to this temple gives everybody a unique peace to the mind & heart. The 'Amma', the powerful messenger of God, sits in an enclosure with a window for people to see and relate their problems to her. `Amma' attentively listens to everybody's woes, one by one, and offers blessings to them. One can buy `Aravanai Payasam' as prasadam here.

Went with the family - this is one of the greatest temple for the Nagaraja god and very divine experience- stayed for 2 days and had multiple darshans

Lot of couples ( who require kids) visit here including all religion

The temple is maintained well and there is good accommodation facility provided by the temple

There is an "Amma "(Divine Mother) who is administering the temple and meets the pilgrims and provide blessing - meeting amma and getting her blessing is very much required one and should not be missed at any cost

The Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple is a great place to visit with family. It has a lot of history & is said to be linked to the formation of Kerala from the ocean. The temple is surrounded by a mini forest, has thousands of idols of serpents with the main sanctum housing two mini temples for the Sarpayakshi & Lord Nagaraja. The seva counter is big, the darshan is very quick & not very time consuming. According to tradition there are specific sevas which can be performed in this temple.

A little deviation from the NH, it is better to travel by Train to Harippad & take a Auto to the temple as the NH is not an expressway & tends to have high traffic density all the times. The temple guest house "Mandaram" has good rooms & all basic facilities including food. For more details visit http://www.mannarasala.org/.

Mannarasala Sree Nagaraja Temple(Malayalam: മണണാറശ്ശാല ശ്രീ നാഗരാജാക്ഷേത്രം) is a very ancient and internationally known centre of pilgrimage for the devotees of serpent gods (Nagaraja). The famous Nagaraja temple "Mannarasala" is nestled in a forest glade, like most snake temples. The Mannarasala Temple has over 30,000 images of snakes along the paths and among the trees, and is the largest such temple in Kerala.
