A wonderful temple in Ambalapuzha.
The temple is devoted to Lord Krishna.
Men should go bare chested inside the inner sanctum.
The prasad of the temple is also very famous but we were unlucky not to have it.

It was a good visit, and we saw our Lord Krishna's idol there. There was a Kerala wedding on the day we visited. So we got to visit that as well. Pal payasam was very tasty, though they made us wait more than an hour at the token counter.

A nice, big, clean temple in typical South indian style, famous for its palpayasam.
Had a good darshan, then waited for an hour to receive the delicious palpayasam.
Do remember to wear dresses covering your kness & shoulders .. else carry a shawl.
Around half an hour away from Allepey.

Very famous and ancient Sreekrishna Temple at Ambalapuzha. Very attractive and devotional atmosphere. Ambalapuzha Milk stew(അമ്പലപ്പുഴ പാൽപ്പായസം) is very famous allover the world. It's said to be the great Kunchan Nambiar (കുഞ്ചൻ നമ്പ്യാർ) lived here. His Mizhavu (മിഴാവ്) still properly protected here.

We visited this temple twice during our stay at Aleppey. It is dedicated to Lord Krishna, in the form of a little boy. You can do darshan up till about 12 noon. We went there both the time around that time. We did darshan, and once got paal payasam(rice pudding). It is very famous, and you can either book it forehand, or get half liter paysam per head. People start queuing for the paysam around 11.30, and it is distributed in a plastic container by the temple management at around 12.30, after Neivedhyam to Lord Krishna. They charge Rs.50 per half liter.
It is beleived that the distinct taste of the paysam at this temple is due to the water from temple well. and therefore cannot be achieved if made anywhere else.
There are a lot fo shops on either side of temple entrance, they sell anything from foot wear/cloths to vessels/brass lamps, paintings/photos.
The temple is less than 1 hour's drive from Aleppey town.

Located at Ambalappuzha, around 12 kms from Alappuzha district, this temple is considered as another Guruvayur. Here, lord Krishna is seen in the form of Parthasarathi. A visit to this temple makes us feel refreshed and we lose all our tensions and fear when we stand in front of the graceful idol of lord Krishna. This temple is famous for Palpayasam. It is believed that Guruvayoorappan comes to Ambalappuzha Sreekrishna temple daily during palpayasam nedyam time. Palpayasam booking has to be made 2 days in advance. It is served after nedyam by 12 noon daily. Another famous offering here is Unniyappam. This also needs advance booking before 2 days. It is available after nedyam at night.

The temple is held in great esteem by the locals and is dedicated Lord Krishna- the surroundings are very serene although during peak hours it can be very busy. The rice pudding made in the temple which is given as a prasad is a must for anyone who visit the temple, it has a very distinct sweet taste which is unmatched according to the locals .
