Today I tried an Ayurvedic Treatment at Visrutha Ayurveda Chikitsalayam - and it was quite amazing!! The treatment has been done by Revathy. Such a beautiful and pleasant woman - she knows about an awesome treatment!

I tried the Abhyrangam and the Sirodhara massage. Simply amazing. After that I felt like a newborn baby 🤩😍 You really have to try it, when you visit alleppey!

After receiving 2 massages already by that point in Varkala (and not really impressed) thought to give it a go and try in Allepey as the hotel owner where I was staying recommended. Glad I did as the lady that treated me ,Revathy, was great and knew what she was doing. I am a therapist myself 18years( not qualified in Ayuverdic massages though) and i can tell when someone is really trained and knows the human body. She used also hot pouches to release tension on my stiff back. If ever back to Allepey will revisit. Plus it was the only place that they did a proper consultation before hand

It’s unbelievable that this is one of the top rated places for the famous Ayurveda massage... TOTALLY NOT RECOMMENDED!! I paid today 1500 rupees for this:
- totally oiled and was disgusting, oil had an awful smell
- the guy asked us to stay totally naked, touching parts of the body that had nothing to see with the massage I bought
- facilities were really old and deteriorated
- lots of mosquitoes in the room
- I was meant to have a 60 min back and shoulders oil massage. The guy spent 30 min on my legs, 10 min in my head and 10 min on my arms. Only 10 min in back/shoulders, and not intensive at all. He didn’t touch well the pain points.
- place where I was laying was uncomfortable, no hole for my head. My neck hurts even more now than after doing the massage!
- sometimes I was burnt, told the guy, but kept on doing it
- final cleaning... no word, they took me to a toilet and asked me to pour some glasses of dirty water on my head to remove all the oil. No proper shower at all!

I hope to keep my hair in the upcoming days and not to have any other serious consequence after this.

Hello sir, After reading your story, it is very clear that, you were looking for a modern spa. This is a genuine ayurveda hospital, we give more importance for the therapeutic treatments than the ambience. We are using the real medicated oil, which is not having any bad smell or fragrance. We will not use any aromatic oil for ayurveda massage. You have selected the Elakizhi, and for that we have to do it with hot leaf bundle. But it will not burn your skin. During the therapy, everyone has to wear T band (Lankotty). It covers the private parts perfectly. If you wear any other cloths we cannot do the massage properly. Ayurveda treatment table (Dhroni) will not have the hole as you mentioned. It is being used only in spas. We provide a bath room with the facility of hot water, bath towel, soap and shampoo. There will be adequate water supply, so that you can wash the oil completely. As you are staying at Lake palace, you cannot expect that 5 star facilities in our bath room. Please don't make the readers fool, by writing the words like " dirty water" & " glass of water". Ayurveda massage is with oil, unlike spa, we have to use 100 ml to 140 ml of oil for body massage. Before going through only reviews, it is better to read about benefits and procedures of ayurveda massage, which will help you to distinguish ayurveda and spa massages. As you mentioned about our rating, there is no tricks, those knew that difference, thats all.

When we decided to come to India we were clear that one of the experiences that we could not miss was to get a massage ❤️☝️Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is a holistic treatment system in India and is recognized as the oldest of the healing systems🙏 on earth.

To make this massage we contacted Dr. Praveen in the center Visrutha Ayurveda Chikitsalayam, a center with 9 years of experience💪 established in the city of Alleppey.

Dr. Praveen attended us to know our medical history and recommend the best Ayurvedic treatment for us. In our case, it was an Abhyangam relaxation massage.

This is an ayurveda massage based on oil and Marma therapy that helps condition the body🙏, increases blood circulation, prevents aging of the skin, tones the muscles💪 and helps to improve the 😴sleep.

It was a 1 hour massage that filled us with oil all over our body and left us better than a baby 🤣.

Many thanks to Dr. Praveen and his entire team for treating us so well - in our first experience with Ayurveda massage. If you come to Alleppey in India we recommend it 100%.

This type of massage has a cost💵 of 1200 rupees.

I went for a head and body massage after checking reviews here. Sadly, I've had massive hair fall since that day. I've lost 50% of my hair in less than 10 days. I've already spent so much money visiting doctors and buying meds since then. DO NOT GO to this place please. We have no idea of the quality of ingredients they are using. The massage, both head and body, was just rough and uni directional, it wasn't soothing or exciting. I didn't have any relaxation after the massage. I don't want to paste the masseuse's name here, because he is not to blame alone. My masseuse told me that he is not a trained professional. He is just doing it as another job. I feel that's unfair. When we are paying so much for an hour's session, the masseuse should be a professional and genuine person, not some random guy with insufficient skills in this space. The fault is with the management of this place.

Dear Sir, We are really sorry to hear that you have severe hairloss after the massage. I would like to clarify a few points here. 1. We are using pure classical medidated oil, for body massage and head massage. For head, we generally use Kayyoniadi coconut oil (Bhringaraja coconut oil). It is very good for hairloss and to improve hair growth. We are sure that head massage with this oil for 5 minutes will never cause hairfall. 2. Our all staffs completed their 1 year diploma course in Ayurveda panchakarma and nursing. They are well qualified and experienced. 3. The masseure, who did massage for you was Mr. Prajith. Everybody mentioned his name in their review, so you hide his name intensionally. He completed his course from Govt ayurveda medical college. He is very skilled and knows all ayurveda treatments very well. But he is not qualified in which "you were asking for". 4. If it is a genuine review, why don't you attend my calls, not giving e mail id or whatsap number ?! I hope the genuine customers can understand your intension. I wish, you will be alright very soon. Regards, Dr. Praveen
