This place is indeed a huge shopping paradise and you can find anything everything all under one roof! The trade city is about 20mins drive time from Yiwu train station and there are 5 key areas/buildings here (each building has 5 storeys with 2 annexes and is huge) and each area/building is selling different things.

Area 1 is mainly for toys/stationery; Area 2 is mainly for electronic, electrical, pc items; Other areas is for fashion, gardening, home appliances and furniture etc. The entire trade city is very big and the buildings are not interlinked and when we were there, it was raining and so we had to walk in the rain to walk amongst the buildings.

Because the each area is huge, we only had time to cover Area 1 and 2 the whole day.
There are so much to see, shop and you can actually bargain for the prices if you buy a few units. Most shops are opened to retail business, only a handful into wholesaling.

And we bought a lot of things, toys and stationeries (and some retailers are kind enough to courier our purchased items to our hotel directly in Shanghai since we were unable to carry them all).

It's a great experience to visit here! Will surely come again next time!

Yiwu City is a great city for business because there are the world's largest small commodity trade market.

This market is very very large and lots of foeirgners live there for international trade.

And the purchasing deparkment of United Nations is still there.

The Yiwu Trade Area is enormous. It is an absolute essential to find the area of interest before you attempt to
start your buying here. There are fairly clear areas for particular product types . The easiest way to work here is to find an agent to handle the negotiations. Unless of course you speak the Chinese language. There are huge distances between various different areas and wearing
very comfortable walking shoes is essential. The floors are high gloss stone so beware of spilt liquid as it is extremely
slippery. It can also be extremely cold in the winter as there is no heating

When they say there is 83,000 shops in this trade centre they are not lying - this is massive. Anything you can think of is in there somewhere. I would recommend knowing what you want & going in with a guide/translator for the best experience...

Its everything you need to get anything that is made in china wholesale only. But its huge and take you weeks to get through it. So its highly recommended that you rent a guide and translator it’s worth the money it will save you days and miles of walking. TIP. In china its the law for visitors to always carry their passports do not forget your passport in the hotel you might be stopped by police and asked for your passport.
