You will not regret it to go that far to experience such an striking bamboo forest but my recommendation is that you plan it really well. The place is way too far from civilization and at least my friend and I took a coach to get there from Changzhou station and it took over 4 hours to get finally there... More

Although a little further out of town than we expected, it was definitely worth the visit. Luckily we visited on a Monday and it was very quiet (i.e. people) - although it had a lot of school parties visiting which was actually wonderful to see, kids enjoying the outdoors together. It felt like a great place to get back to... More

Beautiful and peaceful place. Very clean and calm. If you have chance use the cableway to get the peak and walk down through bamboo forest or bamboo see, as they call it.

This place is absolutely paradise. We went to Zhu Hai during on a morning and the air is cool, fresh like nowhere else in cities in China. It is perfect for walks and hikes. In the park, the ride in a cable car to the top of the mountain is highly recommended to see the biggest bamboo jungle in China.... More

Just amazing, I had no idea china had such beauty and untouched nature. this well preserved area still with a touch of corny chinese additions has to be one of my all time places to visit. This is up there with Austrian Alps, Spanish and majorcan coast lines and flying over the great barrier reef. A definite must see. you... More

Visited the bamboo forest on my last trip to China. It is well maintained and has great views of the surrounding country landscape at the top of the mountain. I would recommend taking the gondola to the top rather than walking. Well worth a visit..

Sea of Bamboo, 23 km from the city's high speed rail station, reminded me of Crouching tiger Hidden Dragon. This place is usually crowded over weekends with visitors from the nearby cities of Nanjing, Hangzhou and Shanghai. If you visit over the weekdays, you should experience more tranquility. The air is very fresh and walking up to the peak instead... More

I have never seen so much bamboo before. I took the path to the top of the mountain. This is quite a trek. I took the cable car down. One can also avoid the trek and take cable car up and down the mountain if desired.

This is a bit out of the way from city center but a must see if you like to learn more about the famous Yixing clay teapot industry. The craftsmanship is one of the best in terms of clay teapot in China. The Bamboo garden is very unique, go there in the morning or later in the afternoon to get... More
