You can see so much and it is easy to get to. We really enjoyed the view and the Smokies themselves. It was interesting to see what had burned.

This is a great spot to capture the heart of Gatlinburg nestled in the Smokies. The2017 fire made its way right up to the parking lot, but grass and flowers are already coming back. Unfortunately, thousands of trees will never revive, making way for invasive species to thrive. Never saw so much deadfall in the park - the drought plus... More

This is an excellent stop and this time so very sad because of the recent fire in the Smokeys. Why would anyone think to do this to these beautiful mountains. I hope when I come back there will be new life, more green and more memories for future visitors.

One of my FAV places to stop!!! The north overlook is better than the south overlook. BUT no overlook is a BAD overlook!!! :-) #1 bit >> Bring your camera!!!!

We stopped by there. It was after the fires but it was still an amazing view. I recommend that everyone stop there and take pictures. The view is breath taking!

Excellent view from above downtown Gatlinburg. We love going there at night to view the lights of Gatlinburg.

The overlook offers a great view of the city. It is a little off the beaten path, but it is easy to find. Since it is free, it is a must-do!

This is a narrow steep road. It is not for people that get nervous easily. Some of the shoulders are eroded and the turns are sharp. Stay in your lane and go slow.....you will be fine! Wonderful views all around.

Be aware that the road up the mountain is closed until April 1st regardless if the weather. We always go up the mountain and my young kids were disappointed. We kept going back to see if the road was open. They are seasonal roads. Plan accordingly! This is amazing if you can get up the hill.

We've been to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area many times, but this is our first time to the Bypass Overlook. I was so thankful to remember that my phone has a "panoramic" mode because it's an awesome view. Awesome, and heartbreaking. Not only were you surrounded by the devastation caused by the November fires, but the air was still thick with... More
