I have visited the museum before, but this year (2003) it is unbelievably the new and improved museum. The exhibits are fantastic! There is a great mineral and dinosaur exhibit, Page's history is dispayed with some great dam building memorabilia, informative and lively show of Major Powell's trip down the Colorado with diaramas (sp), and the movie filming history at Lake Powell and the area. A must see for any visitor to Page, as it gives one the informed perspective for a much better visit and/or stay. There is so much information that one can just enjoy the ancient anazazi pots and baskets and information, as well as the other exhibits I have mentioned. Thanks for providing a review section here!!

As the title says.... great place to get local info. Also good to get a historic perspective of Page. It is a small place that combines a visitor center, retail, and the museum which is fee based.

The information was extensive and audio information from those who were involved in the development of Page and the Glen Canyon Dam was incredible. Worth the visit. Staff were also quite informative and gave us tons of area tips.

Excellent history of the geology of the area, JW Powell, and his trip down the Colorado River, and the development of the Glen Canyon Dam. Museum is free and only asks for a donation.

It's free. You can spend 30-60 minutes learning about Powell and the general area. It's time well spent. They also have tourist info and they're helpful.

The Museum itself is small and very well done. Doubles as a Visitor Center. Employees/volunteers are knowledgeable of the area. What I recommend most is the gift shop. High quality local artists have their works displayed and for sale. If I were looking for a quality, local souvenir, this is where I would look. Prints, earrings, carved bowls, jewelry, children's puppets and books are all to be had here.

We did not go into the museum part but the staff at the tourist information counter was very helpful and gave us a lot of great information about sites to visit. This made it possible for us to do additional sightseeing on a limited time.

You'll learn a lot about the development of the lake and dam. Small gift shop with fine art and Native American art and jewelry.

How interesting is this unpretentious museum. Well worth the visit, a great use of not a huge space. Loved the old photographs - lots of memorabilia. Neat and tidy informative exhibits. Pleasant and friendly staff. Great work. Glad we stopped by!!
