We took an awesome hike on the Beehive trail, which is located half a mile from the visitor center at Glen Canyon Dam. You take a right out of the parking lot and then the first left is where the parking for the trail is located. The park ranger suggested doing this hike as it was an alternative to The Wave since that is so limited. It was a beautiful 2 mile round-trip hike. Make sure you take the side trail to the scenic lookout as well. Stunning views from the top! This was one of our favorite hikes while staying in Page.

The Glen Canyon Visitor Center is a great experience!!
The staff are very helpful and able to answer questions pertaining to the dam and the Page area.
The area itself is clean and well marked.

There are sights you want to behold. But there are so many places that want to skim money off you, it borders on ridiculousness.

A must do in the area, great addition if you are doing a Lower Antelope tour. Fantastic views and rock hiking. The path is marked by rocks, quite impressive. An easy dirt road and park at the campground. Starts on the left, look for markers.

There’s no one here and she wanted to charge us 30 bucks. We had an old card that expired so she was nice enough to change it out and give it to us military. We will be able to use it in the future. I wondered why I would pay 30 bucks to drive through someplace in the middle of winter and just take a few pictures, so I am thankful she gave us the card for free.

Several great views. We visited the Glen Canyon Dam. Interesting. The short hike to the Hanging Garden was worth. An oasis in the middle of a desert area. The water level was low. Interesting to see the difference between the water line from a flood in the 1980's and the current water level.

How do I get to Glen Canyon National Recreation Area from Page, AZ? When I'm searching for ways to get there, I can't find anything. My friend and I are flying into Page and we will not have a car since we aren't of age to rent one yet. Is is mostly tours or are we able to get a cab service there?

Anybody can go there. You may even find folks at the car rental places going there that may give you a lift. Otherwise maybe use Uber.

There seems to be many tour options for Antelope Canyon - we will be staying in Page and wondered which tour company would be a great guide for this Canyon .
thanks!

We used Dixie Ellis lower canyon tour. Our tour guide was Jerome and he was great about showing us which pictures to make and also making pictures of our group (as well as others). It was the highlight of our AZ trip. The closer to noon you get your tour, the better the sun light coming through. Have a great experience!!

We will be out first week of April 2019. Thinking maybe Glen Canyon might be a stop we should make. Any recommendations on things to do for a fam with two teen daughters? We are not into long hikes, short ones preferred. Or even anything that doesn’t involve hiking. Thanks!!!

I have gone to Lake Powell everyyear for about 15 years, and can recommend the visit to Glen Canyo Dam, along with the Antelope Canyon Navajo Indian tour--try to get there first thing in the AM or last trip in the PM due to colors of the canyon.
The boat trou tour to Rainbow is a great shorter hike, taking the tour boat from Wahweap Marina.
I have a house boat and would recommend any of the boat tours to see the rock formations.

Take the Lake Powell guided boat tour. It starts out slow with a view of the dam but than goes into the canyon for breathtaking, off your feet, views along with Native American Music makes it fun for all ages! Bring your camera!

Thinking of traveling from Moab to Glen Canyon for 2 days and staying 1 night in page. Is it worth the 4 hour drive and is it scenic? Thank you!

I enjoyed the cruise on Lake Powell, and there are a few diff options. It was pretty, but I wasn’t as taken with the scenery of Lake Powell as with other areas...we drove from Flagstaff so I’m not sure about how scenic the drive would be. I get the impression that it’s a long distance between highlights. That said, I was absolutely blown away by Antelope Canyon, which is right outside of Page. To me it was a highlight of our trip and although the tour is only an hour, I think it’s not to be missed. We did the lower Canyon and it was truly spectacular. Be aware, it can be VERY hot in summer, and you might have a wait to get in...they have a canopy, but it’s still hot.

Is the area accessible in the spring (March), and are there still things to do there?
Ralph P

Yes it is accessible in March -- probably no different than July. The weather is cool which would make for nice hiking and sightseeing -- better than July! However, Springtime can be windy.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a company that does float trips leaving/returning from /to Page? We are going to be there next week. There are two adults and two teens. Thx

Take a look at Colorado River Discovery. Think they might be exactly what you are looking for.

does the "1-7 Day Vehicle Pass - $15" (according to the Glen Canyon National Area site) includes Wahweap Marina, Lone Rock park, the Glen Canyon Dam and Antelope Point entrance? so basically I pay $15 and I can get into all these parks within 7 days?
