Lees Ferry is in Glen Canyon National Recreation, an amazing place with so much to do! There is a fee to enter the area, but if you have America the Beautiful, you can use that and enter for free.
This is such a picturesque area!
We walked the Historic Navajo Bridge, enjoyed the views of the Vermillion Cliffs, hiked the short River Trail (2.0m RT) along the Colorado River, stopped at the Balanced Rock Garden, and hiked part of the Cathedral Wash Trail. It had rained the day before, so there were pools of water in the wash that made it particularly difficult to traverse, and, having started this trail late in the day, we were unable to finish it, as we would have been in the canyon in the dark, and we didn't want that. I'd love to get to do the Cathedral Wash trail in its entirety in the future.

Worth a little time to visit this historic area. You can walk right down to the river. See, hear, and feel the water that will flow through the Grand Canyon.

Beautiful and peaceful river. Lots of fisherman. My husband and I took our camp chairs and hung out and listened to the beautiful sound of the river as the sun set.

What a thrill to be standing here at the beginning of our 8 day 7 night adventure down the mighty Colorado River with Wilderness River Adventures :) I've watched other folks prepare and launch over many years and stood with much gratitude to have our turn.

Highway 89A runs south-east from Kanab around the spectacular Vermillion Cliffs before rejoining the main 89. Lees Ferry is a short drive off the 89A, and lovely spot where you can get right down to the Colorado river. There is access for canoes etc to the water there, and it's not far along the river to the famous Horseshoe Bend. You do have to pay the Glen Canyon park fee, but this is valid for 7 days so will then do for your visit to Page and Lake Powell...

Lee's Ferry has lots of fascinating history and great scenery. We saw a coyote and a Great Blue Heron in the Paria River not 40' apart. You may be able to catch a California Condor on windy days near the bridge.

There isn't much to see there. Worth visiting if you are going to do an adventure trip (e.g. go down the river). Otherwise maybe not worth. Surroundings are nice.

It was an interesting experience to be able to drive right up to the Colorado River at the beginning of the Grand Canyon.

We did not partake today, but many water-based activities use this location.

Lee's Ferry is the fee entry area by the Vermilion Cliffs near the Navajo Bridge. It is one of the points of river contact for river tour outfitters, since you can drive to the river's edge here. There are also camping, historical sites, trails to hike and , of course, the river to see and use. Note there's an entry fee, usually self-serve. If you have a pass, display it on your windshield.
