Very impressive. It was evident that the University had done a lot of research and collecting through the years.

This highly recommended museum of ancient Puebloan artifacts is in a temporary location due to the renovation of the permanent site on the campus of Western New Mexico University. We went anyway and are so glad we did. The assistant director was available and spent...More

There is only one display cabinet in a building away from the original museum while the building/museum is being renovated. The items displayed were tremendous examples of Mimbres. No pictures and limited display keeps the rating lower than it would be once the museum is...More

This small but excellent museum showcases the culture of the local Mimbres people, primarily through their pottery. Other artifacts are also presented, and there is a small exhibit about the early mining days. Donation only, no entrance fee. Worth a visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed this small museum which focuses on Native American art--mainly pottery and baskets. The museum was undergoing renovation, and will probably be even better when completed.
