One of the five boroughs of New York City is Brooklyn and I was pleased to visit the area whilst I was staying in Manhattan.

I walked from Dumbo in a straight line to the hall. It was very enjoyable as there were plenty of different things to see along the way.

The view of Manhattan Bridge is quite iconic and then the journey through Cadman Plaza was nice to take me to Columbus Place. I had not expected to see the statue of the Notorious B.I.G. which was pleasing and the other statues dotted around the front of the building.

It is good that this traditional building is still being used for borough business but there are pieces of modern art in front of it to keep it relevant. Good job!

I was headed to the subway on a Sunday and walked through Columbus Park. Stopped for a minute to admire this classic "city hall" for the Borough of Brooklyn. Nice and noble, good position in the midst of all the government buildings.

This is a classic downtown city hall building, the capital of city business for the Borough of Brooklyn. On the park, right in the middle of downtown, well-served by lots of subway lines.

This large building is very prominent in downtown Brooklyn, very impressive. I think it would be interesting to go inside, but it is very grand on the park and at the subway stop,

This governmental center of Brooklyn is not worth a visit. The architecture is ordinary and not worth a visit.

I Love strolling by the Boro Hall. I love older beautiful buildings-Its always clean in the area, so much to see
A soothing place, The promenade brings me their after the buildings. I look at all the new buildings going up, but it doesn't look as beautiful as the the older, historical buildings.

Brooklyn Borough Hall has become the backdrop for events in the nearby park such as the 3x weekly Farmer's Market, and the Brooklyn Literary Festival which tales place in the early fall, with readings and book talks taking place in Borough Hall itself and spilling into the surrounding area. The steps of the Borough Hall Building and the scattered tables with umbrellas seat audiences who gather for the summer concerts of jazz, calypso or talented students from Brooklyn schools. December brings latke eating contests and menorah lighting ceremonies.

Borough Hall of itself is an interesting historical building. The interior of marble and portraits of past Mayors when Brooklyn was a City, is worth entering. However, it is a place of business. It is what is nearby that makes this a worthy destination: Brooklyn Heights is right across Court Street. Walk in on Montague and wander for hours, and walk along the promenade with the fabulous views of New York Harbor. There are many fine restaurants to chose from; and now is the time to see it... before the historical buildings have been destroyed for glass & steel.
